Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

Also I'd like to report this weird comment (which isn't so much weird as it is outright hostile IMO). I have no idea how these go unreported.

Now the reason this is important is because the user @Alexander has been overtly hostile to Dragon Ball and its fans many times across multiple threads (and for that reason he was also thread banned from the Daima thread a while ago, but that doesn't seem to have changed him). If needed I can provide more instances as well.

Well, this particular example does seem to be at least intended as light-hearted, since they also made a DBZ reference in the same post.

If you have more examples, I would indeed like to see them before passing judgement.

Okay, so here's a few instances that I think are worth highlighting (similar to what got him thread banned from the Daima thread).

Here we have Alexander directly ignoring @LephyrTheRevanchist telling them to move on after constantly not shutting up about a very specific and settled topic. I'm highlighting this comment specifically but it'd be better to read the conversation itself because it really shows just how the user simply refuses to listen to anyone and generally keeps causing problems for everyone in the thread:

He constantly refers to DB as "mediocre to bad" which, on its own isn't really that much of an issue since many people have that wrong view but telling that to the supporters of the verse in its very thread is pretty distasteful IMO. Also this was about Daima which, keep in mind, he got thread banned from for similarly passing distasteful comments in its threads:

And no, this wasn't a one time thing. He does it again here, this is a pattern with him that he will always bring up:

Also while it may seem like the first comment which I reported may be light-hearted because of the Frieza reference, it really isn't when you look at how they interact with the supporters and view the verse generally (one of his most recent comments on the general thread was just randomly asking us how much we think he hates DB on a scale of 1 to 10. That's far from normal to say the least). I wouldn't say he's hostile but.... yeah this gets exhausting at some point

Oh and this too. Lephyr themselves gave him a final warning:

For context, this was for @Alexander calling someone braindead but @RoninSlayer200 specifically requested Lephyr's intervention because Alexander is also generally unpleasant within the thread

Alright, I've read through it all, and here are my general thoughts:

They do seem to be a bit annoying about it, but calling a verse bad or mediocre is a pretty normal and common thing, especially if you're a fan of it, and given they also claimed Sonic is mediocre (despite it being their profile picture) I think this is just another case of a fan being critical of the verse they themselves are a fan of- which I don't interpret as anything mean-spirited towards any actual members.

In regards to Lephyr and their warnings, the first one wasn't really phrased like a traditional warning, and they seemed to calm down after the second, more clear one.

As it stands, I would support no more than just an instruction to be a bit more considerate, but I don't think anything here warrants an actual punishment.

I'll also ping them so they can defend themselves as well.

@Alexander

That's entirely your call, I just wanted to highlight all of this and expose a general pattern which I believe is very clear even if you believe that no punishment is necessary. I'll disengage from the thread beyond this, since I'm not really interested in hearing their 'defense'. Thank you.

Well it's still good that you brought it to our attention. Even if no actual punishment is issued, we will surely talk to them about it and how they have apparently made other people feel.

i admit that i was harsh on Daima from the start.

i shut up about that afterwards, i don't bring the same theme of conversation over and over again.

calling a show mediocre or bad is not a new thing Hades, actually everyone almost certaintly believes that another show in this wiki is bad or mediocre, and i don't see a reason for a rule violation report at them for saying a show is [opinion score about the show quality]like with Hazbin Hotel
And no, this wasn't a one time thing. He does it again here, this is a pattern with him that he will always bring up:
same from above

that was a genuine question, because for what i know of myself, i just keep watching Dragon ball even when i call it bad or mediocre, just has much has i watch Sonic either from the Shows or comics even when some are...well...you know, what i call dragon ball.

that was a accident, it was related to the response i got https://vsbattles.com/threads/dragon-ball-super-discussion-thread-100.107592/post-7050390.
"braindead discussion TBH"which could basically imply that this person called me braindead and either i didn't care, or just it was not specifically calling me brain dead.

This is clearly like a 9 year old or something like that:

That's a little rude, don't ya think?

I deleted it, since they seemingly are very young and were revealing their face.

@TugiaTheNarrator

Please do not post footage of your real face if you are underage, or otherwise dox yourself in any way, as it is a serious safety risk.

There is free software for recording game footage directly. I'd be willing to help you find and install it if needed.

How was I the only person to report this out though? I saw people arguing in the thread...
Unfortunately, internet safety is not something most people are taught extensively, especially not by their parents, which is what results in these kinds of incidents in the first place. I do sometimes patrol the list of all recent posts, but it doesn't include pictures or videos.

My little niece started playing Roblox recently and I was shocked to find their literal parents set up their username as their full legal name.

Anyway, I can't say for certain they are 9 years old (I'm bad at telling exact ages since my sister has Turner's Syndrome which has thrown off my perception my entire life), but they were definitely a minor.

Though if they are, that would be below the minimum age of 13 for a Fandom account- but I'm not going to just assume that.

the issue was I couldn't record from the actual game itself

I'm older than that

As I said, there are free programs which allow you to do that, for example: Bandicam.

In general, you should never post identifying information about yourself online as a minor (and even as an adult only within reason).

Especially in an age where facial recognition and generative AI software is becoming increasingly sophisticated, it's very possible that a bad actor will use it for some nefarious scheme, such as to steal your likeness, or even track you elsewhere for something worse.

Let me see if I have this right.

This report believes Adam1396 is over-toxic, with weird comments like this and outright unacceptable comments like this.

...Then we have you, reporting Meiou, for toxicity of his own. The quoted comments aren't as bad, but using your restraint from heavier insults as an insult itself does suck. Admittedly, frustration in some of those scenarios seems reasonable, and may paint a picture of a wider pattern of issues, of which Meiou is a smaller part. Poor behavior bouncing off of what I read as deliberate goading for a reaction is mitigated in terms of how severe we ought to react. The report also exaggerates a bit, calling Meiou's words "evil", which is weird.

...and this seems to more or less complete painting that picture.

My conclusions, for now, is that @Adam1396 deserves a very strict warning, if not a very brief ban; use of words like that on-site have been met with harsher reprisals before. Bypassing the slur filter enough to make it clear what the word was does not help. It's inexcusable shit.

I believe @MeiouHades should not receive a formal warning to the tracker, but an informal advisory to not add any insults when someone is stirring the pot. It serves no good. I would not like to see this becoming a trend.
Honestly I am not gonna defend myself against the comment he has mentioned. I just find it childish to call me overtoxic.
It's blatanlty the other way around.

I pretty much don't even engage much in nonbleach threads. Labeling that idea on me is just bizzare.

Man went through threads to find those comments. Applause to that time and effort👏.

Anyway I am fine with shory ban as well if me using as "childish" behavior somehow violates the rules.

Dude😭 just say how long you want atp 💔💔

Apologies for being late, I been working hard IRL combined with having a ****** up internet reception as of late. I agree what Meiou said wasn't so bad, I agree with FinePoint's conclusion regarding Alex. And it appears M3X is deliberately trying to be unreasonable and I am supporting a ban given the multiple ignorance of staff warnings.

There is no need to apologize, friend. You do lots of work, and real life should always come first.

Anyway, I've talked with M3X via private message a bit, and while I still won't comment on a proposed punishment, I would like to add some context I gleaned from our conversation.

Allegedly, the meme is old and one that's been used before with @Arkenis being okay with it. Obviously they'd need to confirm that.

Furthermore, I am essentially impossible to offend, and in fact I found their response to be pretty funny.

Though, they had no way of knowing that, so I still view the behavior as very problematic.

I do want a ban though
Im okay with the meme. It is funny.
Then it seems like there was ultimately no harm at the end of the day except the derailing. Though of course the pattern itself is probably a violation.

For the record, if you simply want to be banned we already do so via request- there's no need to act out in order to qualify.

I think that Bambu makes sense here. So should we apply a strict warning or a brief ban, and for how long in that case? 🙏
Calling another member a slur probably warrants a month.
Okay. That seems fine to me as well then. 🙏

So should we apply a 1 month ban, and if so, what should we write as the ban reason? 🙏
