The Justice League managed to beat Superboy-Prime by sending him to an uninhabited universe only for something to go wrong and for him to start heading towards the Rick & Morty universe. Rick finds out about this during one of his adventures and realizing that he could end up having to fight something that could destroy the entire universe gets to work in his garage to prepare.

I meant that as more a reply to, "Rick via range and hax, like time freeze." Time Trapper is virtually immune to time alteration (wasn't affected by the Crisis on Infinite Earths event that reset the multiverse and immune to the time paradox created by Karate Kid and Dawnstar) So if Rick were to freeze time, it wouldn't do anything to Prime Trapper.
