He managed to come up with a strategy with Jay Hong to recover his stamina and retaliate against Hostel's plan to take them down.

Idk man that doesn't really prove genius intelligence. Genius is more so learning a complex technique or entire combat style by seeing it in action once, or being a master of loads of styles at once. What I see here is definitely not more than gifted so I gotta say it's best if you show more evidence.
