You are required to zoom in to get accurate pixels?

The whole thing about pixel scaling is to be as accurate as possible. When doing lines for distance, you obviously would want to make sure you start and end at the correct points. If you don't zoom in, you could be a couple pixels off from where the line is supposed to start/end

In photoshop, it does not matter if you zoom in or out, you will still get accurate pixeling, hence I am wondering.

Wouldn't that just be your own skill? Since you're placing what I'm assuming to be your mouse on the correct spot without zooming in. I just recently started pixel scaling literally 6 days ago. Did my first calc with it and it got accepted. Probably will take me some time to get accurate without zooming in.

i use pixel studio for it, it gives me the pixels used for the line, i zoom just to make sure i'm starting the line in the fight spot

I use MS Paint and see the pixel length of the line I draw there.

I use Paint.net and it gives out the length of the line I draw, also works with curvy lines as well.
DontTalkDT suggests using GIMP but it's far too hard for me to run on my machine and overall not as UI friendly as Paint.net is. But still far more clever to handle than MS Paint, where line thickness can be an issue, but not so for paint.net.

Actually i am being serious but I tried with any thickness size and I still get the same results.

I use 3-5px thickness for all my images, even the super-crisp ones, there's honestly not that much of a difference in length, even when using curves. The issue is mostly being able to see the line or using appropriate-enough colors to distinguish between different parts.
If you want to worry about thickness, MS Paint is the culprit.

Meh all I am saying is it does not matter how much thickness you get, it's not going to affect pixelscaling at all.
At least in photoshop, I never occur issues with that.
