It’s more of a weakness of the mind control it seems

Not necessary; although mental influence wearing off due receiving hits in the head is not unheard of, as well when giving absurd orders to the controlled one (like when the Sultan momentary releases from Jafar's hypnosis when Jafar told him about merrying his daughter). Giving that the wiki standard for mind control is no one has a chance to escape from it, those instances are considered weaknesses.
