I was very sad to hear about this. He was one of the greatest minds in human history, and a fighter of staggering strength of will, who survived to old age, despite that his doctors stated that he would only live for a few years after he received his diagnosis, and made fantastic breakthroughs in physics despite cripling physical handicaps.

He was a true inspiration for all of humanity, who also endavoured to educate the general population via various books about the nature of reality.

I hope that he rests in peace. He has certainly more than earned it.

...Hawking, I understand of course that you'll almost certainly not see this, and that I am of little consequence to you anyhow, but regardless I feel the need to profess here the gratitude that I feel you're owed. You've touched the lives, in fundamental ways that are impossible to truly grasp in their totality, of people like myself and my family across the world, in addition to inspiring more specifically the scientific and disabled communities in addition to more generally showing all of humanity that there exists more to the world than merely what we can see and touch before us.

I know there is little I can do with my own two hands that can rival what you've done for us all, but perhaps, all things going well, I might at least be able to honor the spirit in which you have done your work.
