Possible Speed Upgrades?

I'm currently watching through the original Lilo & Stitch show, and stumbled upon a possibility for a speed increase. Essentially, there's an experiment (603) which is described as "a living laser bolt" and is referred to as a "laser beam" by Lilo. Stitch was capable of capturing the experiment by slinging a containment capsule at it, though, he did guide the shot. Any thoughts on this? Could this possibly be Rel, SOL, or FTL speeds? Counted an outlier? I'd imagine most likely that it would just be presumed that the experiment isn't actually the Speed of Light.
