I mean Shadow also says planet-piercing like one time so I can understand the confusion.
Yeah I understand. Destruction and piercing aren’t really cap terms, unless it said this thing can’t be destroyed by that thing or this thing can’t be pierced by that thing.

Black Doom could have just heard it from Gerald, or some other source. It's not like he really has seen the cannon pierce a star from what we know.
Could have, can or maybe isn't a solid alternative, how would Gerald even know anyways?

He made the cannon, him knowing what it could do would make sense.

Anyway ig I'm at the point where, I acknowledge that the cannon could potentially make a hole bigger than itself (1000 times bigger I'm not sure of but maybe), and there is similar probabilities that the hole could or could not be visible based on the vagueness of the feat. If it were up to me I'd maybe make it more of a possibly than an outright rating, but that's why it's not up to me I suppose.

Btw would the beam really need to be as big as the hole? I mean couldn't the impact energy just "spike" the star to cause the hole?

Like a cannonball causing a hole in a wooden wall bigger than itself

Yeah I did kinda realize that, but I assumed the disparity between the hole size and the cannon size would be too big. My bad there.

At the current moment? Everything in the OP is more or less handled, and now JJ simply believes the rating should be a "Possibly".

At least large planet, likely/possible small star+?

Well given how hypothetical the feat is, I'm fine with it

I think I would prefer the possibly, since we don't actually see the feat, but the actual rating has enough merit to keep it I suppose.

Well, if the possibly is off the table, then there's not much else I can say here. I'm okay with the thread being closed
