Why is this calc accepted when they both got hit every single time?

Idk if it's a different reason or something, but I just wanna know

Because they can react properly to said Light Beams, but not always dodge them, otherwise they'd be already FTL

No, the whole case of Polnareff vs Hanged Man is extremely similar to this and aim dodging isn't fitting. Another example.

They move relative to the lightspeed beam. There are other calced instances, like Empoleon reacting to and blocking a signal beam, which was about 0.37 c.
