What are you talking about?

EVERY Pokemon can involuntarily shrink.

What?
In Pokemon Legend Arceus, Laventon said, that Pokemon can shrink.

Is that a retcon?
No. Shrinking was in the series from it very beginning

1.: Pokémon development (Capmon), 1990 Pokémon (capmon back then): are shrink and keep into gachapon-like balls.
2: Pokémon lore book (Pocket Monsters Encyclopedia), 1996: Professor Nishinomori's research made humans aware of pokémon ability to instinctively shrink themselves for protection, which was later used to develop Poké Balls.
3.: Old Pokémon videogame (Pokémon Gold & Silver), 1996: Poké Ball can be build by mere craftsmen in their house, they just need a few tools and some weird fruit that will be used as capsule.
4.: Another Pokémon videogame (Pokémon Platinum), 2008: Pokémon get into Poké Balls because the items take advantage of their instinct to shrink into safety when they are in trouble.
5.: Article from official Pokémon site (Pokémon Daisuki Club), 2016: Professor Nishinomori's research was the origin of the idea behind the Poké Balls that catch and store pokémon.
6: Newest Pokémon videogame (Pokémon LEGENDS Arceus), 2022: Pokémon all have the ability to shrink themselves, this ability is exploited by Poké Balls build by hollowing a weird fruit and adding mineral pieces.

How excactly this works?
Pokemon can shrink for several reasons:
1. When Pokemon is weaken, it changing it size. That's why wild Pokemon ''vanish'' after defeating
2. Pokemon can shrink after contact with certain drug. That's how pokeball are created. Allergic reaction to apricorn causes pokemon to involuntary shrink. Modern Pokeball also uses this mechanism
3. Tall grass also change Pokemon size. That's why they unexpectedly appears in the tall grass. Even very big Pokemon

Do modern Pokemon scientists believe this?
Yes. Like I wrote above, Lucian said, that modern scientists believe in this

If every Pokemon can change their size, then why most of them can't learn minimize?
Shrinking is involuntarily. Only few of them can utilize it in combat. Just like not every pokemon with wings can learn the move fly.

What about PC?
We've known Teleportation exists as both technology and a move, it wouldn't be impossible that the PC teleports your pokemon to and from a specific location similar to how Ash sends his pokemon to the professor. PC teleports the balls to a vault for safekeeping. No digital data storage.

Why do we hear about this right now?
Because bad translation. Also, japanese fans knew about this all the time.

So, what do you think?

Their is some wrong and unnecessary information here, but the main point is correct and has the necessary scan. So I agree that all Pokémon should have Size Manipulation.
