Paradise City Part 5

"Alright, so we go to Chicago, track this guy down, which shouldn't be too hard given my mask, and then what? What questions do we got for him, besides the most general ones?"

"What the structure of the organization is, how far their reach, where the main headquarters are and the like. The place where the big guys meet. That's what I'd like to know. If he even knows who some of them are then even better."

"And if he doesn't know any of that?" Stephanie asked with a raise eyebrow. "For all we know he could just be some random guy who got them livid. He may not know anything about tem."

"He was deemed to dangerous they were to not go after him at all. I'd imagine he knows something, besides, I also want to see what makes him so dangerous."

"Fair enough," Michael said as he dropped the pack to the ground before a giant green metallic hand pulverized it into nothing. "That would probably have been me if I had held on to it any longer. Can't say it's not annoying as shit but at least it keeps my bad habits away."
"So what do we now?"

[Tor said we're all in the RV, so lets go with that]

"We should take this thing somewhere quiet, then go to sleep, it's been quite the day for us today."

The Divine Phoenix said:
"So, should I drive?"
"Nah, I'll do it. We probably need a guard for the night as well, and I'm used to pulling long shifts. You guys need your rest."

Michael moves to the door, Shoot to Thrill drifting just past him.

"Well I didn't have any drugs anyway." The man says, walking about a hundred feet away before falling asleep on the ground.

"Eh, probably doesn't have any drugs since he took them all himself."

"Anyway, all of you should be going off to bed," he then turned to Nicholas. "Especially you. We've all had a very rough day."

Michael pulls a whole casket of Pepsi out of nowhere.

"Sleep is for the weak. I got enough caffeine here to keep me awake for a month."

"You should go as well," Michael said to Jessica as he cracked open a can.

As the last person falls asleep, Michael finally lets his facade crack as he unloads a sigh.

He's exhausted as well, but he sure as Hell wasn't going to admit to any of them. Just in case though, Shoot to Thrill materializes behind him.

"You know what to do."

The Stand simply nods it's head. Throughout the night, it constantly jolts him awake.

Michael yawns, eyes half-closed despite all the buzz the caffeine had given. He'd stayed up for way longer than this, but that was back in his university years.

He got up, picking a nearby bottle of water someone must've snuck in during their little pit stop. It was disgustingly warm, but it'd have to do.

He let some of the water dribble on his palm before immediately splashing his face. The bags under his eyes were helped slightly, while his grogginess eased off as well.

He shrugged. That'd have to do. They had a long day ahead of them.
