Hard light is a very complicated case because the photons aren’t moving freely, even if they’re in a beam. They move at whatever speed the system allows, so Symmetra’s weapon could very much not be SoL.

Originally yes, but one of Genji's upgrades is a coating on his blade that allows him to deflect it, ie. he's still fast enough to do so even without it, his tanto just needed to be modified to be able to do so.

They’re probably referring to the name of the weapon: Photon Projector. But imo since Vishkar lent her that weapon it should be wielding hard light technology.

Do you have a scan of that and a scan of him deflecting the beam? In gameplay, Sym's lightbeams are hitscan, meaning they travel to their target instantly. That means the only way Genji could potentially block it is if he aimblocks
