I agree that their organization is stronger.

Technology has advanced. Their numbers have debatably grown. The pacifistas have been upgraded from struggling with rear admirals to going blow for blow with vice admirals. More training to the average individuals. There are more navy bases than before. A lot of other things.

But people use this statement to say "the admirals and fleet admirals are stronger" and it pisses me off

It just that Akainu is more forcing everyone to do better and be better compared to the past is how the statement should be taken

Akainu became fleet admiral by outlasting a dude he matched blow for blow for 10 days.

He holds authority that he uses but he isn't stronger than before.
Like I said. 5:01, he was an admiral. 5:02 he became fleet admiral. He didn't get stronger at 5:02

This goes to a certain extent.
Because the Fleet Admiral isn't the Marine's strongest fighting force, it's the Admirals.
This whole strength ranking stops at the "strongest fighting force"
The Fleet Admiral is just their leader. Not chosen by strength, but chosen by leadership.

The 3 admirals are called "Supreme Fighting Force" as the main/most powerful active force in the navy

Fleet admirals has other duties hence his, Kong and elders positions aren't a fighting force like them (Unless certain exceptions)
A fighting force refers to a group, often military, organized and trained to engage in combat or conflict.

You have Old Man Sengoku above all 3 Marineford Admirals combined?

Literally false, he’s weaker than Akainu. Not to mention Akainu didn’t get weaker by getting promoted.

Sengoku being weaker doesn’t disprove what I said. The admiral’s being the greatest fighting force is in reference to all 3 of them as a group.

Each of the old 3 admirals have that specific title... The title (I think) is granted once you become an admiral

You become the Supreme fighting force, carrying orders of force from fleet admirals and from those higher rank.

They are the ones that fight and inflict force... That's their duty as a fighting force

Do research on translations

It's saying he's the strongest fighting force due to him being an admiral, not that he's literally the sole #1.
Every admiral gets this statement. Aokiji, Akainu, Kizaru, Fujitora, Ryukugyu. They all get this.

You cannot send me an English scan then tell me to “do research on translations” and hide behind that to prove your claim.

Your evidence doesn’t prove your position whatsoever, and I have no reason to believe the English is wrong. Why on earth would you even send me a scan that you know has misleading connotations?

Because I thought you were well read. I was wrong. I apologize for assuming you knew basic One Piece information.
The scan refers to individuals of the Admirals.
Akainu. Aokiji. Kizaru. Fujitora and Ryokugyu. All of the Admirals.

My evidence proves my position.
The admirals are known as the strongest fighting force. Not as a group, individually. Not united, separately. Not active, in general.
So all these excuses of "Fleet Admiral is the strongest" are backed by nothing.

Is what he's saying wrong though? The databook scan quite literally mentions Fleet Admiral, Admiral, and Vice Admiral and goes on to say that the higher the rank, the higher the combat ability. The Fleet Admiral doesn't have to be referred to as the strongest fighting force in the Navy because... the position doesn't necessarily entail being a fighting force at all (or at least in the way an Admiral or Vice Admiral would).
 
What about Kong? We haven't seen him in action yet. 🙏

No, I don't see the dilemma because the Fleet Admiral isn't classified as a fighting force. He can still be the strongest individual in the Marines (stronger than any Admiral) while not being considered part of the "strongest fighting force." The term refers to people actively deployed on missions, which is the role of the Admirals. The Fleet Admiral hands out these missions like sending Kizaru to Egghead to kill Vegapunk or Issho to capture Luffy and Law because that's his job as the strategic leader, not a frontline combatant. The Admirals are the Navy’s strongest active force because the Fleet Admiral rarely leaves his desk unless it’s something absolutely critical like the Celestial Dragons calling on him specifically (ie. Kuma on Marijoa). The Fleet Admiral is too busy cultivating his desk Haki to even be in the discussion on what can be considered a fighting force.

The "fighting force" isn't just "people they send out", it's just their military power. They are their strongest military power. You're trying to find excuses for the fleet admiral's strength in a place that doesn't exist.
 
I think it's just as simple as: Fleet Admiral = the Admiral that's in charge.

A Fleet Admiral isn't necessarily any stronger than any other Admiral; the close duel between Aokiji and Akainu proves that. They're just the ones that call the shots.
 
Nah, there's always a hierarchy, no one is going to appoint someone a higher rank against others if they are weaker

Like legit, to command people, you need to be stronger than them and keep them in check...

The dual of a 1v1 otherwise wasn't needed, they would've instead done some strategic/leadership dual if it was about that

Aokiji lost the dual, since he lost he didn't want to be ordered around like Kizaru, so he left... Higher rank means you have a higher combat ability, it's simply that simple and is straight up stated blatantly and shown as well

Aokiji making it close means he also has the potential to be fleet admiral... If he was in the military and became stronger than akainu, he would've taken his position
