this is a matchup I'm pretty excited to do

considering both of these characters put up a fight against Vader

yes that stick banging part in a New Hope was a legitimate fight now get off my back and let me do my thread before i get salty >_<

anyway this is Ahsoka as of season 2 of Rebels

Obi-wan Kenobi from a New Hope

"but Shadow Vader from a New Hope>Vader from Rebels"

oh shhh, Vader reached his peak in ROTJ

if Vader is stronger it's likely very marginally stronger as the time placement of Rebels and IV are close and Rebels Vader> Early Vader from the comics

also, it's not like Vader was swinging his saber around like a madman and doing force pushes against Kenobi either... so he was casual

so...now that I got that minor rant out of my system

Kenobi: 1 (Lord Griffin)

Ahsoka:

Battle takes place on bespin...fight sounds cool in my head

also, this is Canon versions of the characters

The novel From a Certain Point of View explicitly states that Vader was holding back and merely testing Kenobi. But then again, Kenobi was doing the same against Vader.

I say this could go either way but I'm leaning more towards Kenobi.

The novel From a Certain Point of View states that Old Ben Kenobi as of New Hope was suffering from mild arthritis due his life in the desert and his stamina was clearly not what it used to be. But Vader could feel his power and, despite all his boasting, absolutely did not want to make the mistake of underestimating him again. The fact is that Kenobi can still make himself last by focusing enough. And his control over the Force seems to have really increased compared to his physical prime. My guess is that Kenobi will at first fall into pure Soresu and attempt to see how long he can last against Ahsoka.

Best girl at this point is far more skilled and far more patient when compared to her Padawan self and also far more patient than Anakin at his peak. She won't be making mistakes any time soon. But neither will she be getting through Kenobi's defence any time soon.

Now the victor here will be decided by who slips up first. Who will be the first to give their opponent an opening to exploit? And this is where the difference between these two emerges. Kenobi is far less likely to slip up and he has far greater experience dealing with other Jedi High Councillor level Force wielders and lightsaber duellists. Ahsoka is far more likely to create an opening first. And Kenobi is simply far more skilled in exploiting such opportunities as soon as they present themselves.

Kenobi actually matched Vader at full power, not to mention fought a more powerful Vader. Ahsoka fought Vader mostly when he was trying to bargain, and was still losing pretty handily. Vader has Ahsoka on the ropes like 20 seconds after he gets bloodlusted (Going from "You may be spared" to "Then you shall die").

Kenobi fought a bloodlusted Vader right from the start, lasted longer, and killed someone who fought on par with Ahsoka in like 5 seconds. He also in general is a better fighter, both tactically and in terms of fighting skill.

Kenobi low-mid diff

I agree that Kenobi wins. But low-mid diff is a bit much. And you're abusing ABC logic by using the Maul vs Kenobi duel as an argument.

Not really. Analyzing both fights gives very different results.

Ahsoka: Vader immediately tries to spare her, and while she does make him fight somewhat seriously, she only landed 1 decent hit and is giving ground the entire fight. and after that (minus a "I won't leave you" moment) fails, he is noticeably fighting harder and going for the kill, and defeats her after just over 30 seconds

Kenobi: They both test eachother, but heats up a little more, with little gains on either side. Then Kenobi gives up to become a force ghost. This is a man who robbed Vader of everything, not someone who Vader would be sympathetic to.

I don't like using ABC logic that much, but to be fair, the Maul fights are the only other things we have to go on from for Rebels Ahsoka and Old Ben Kenobi, as Inquisitors are comparatively fodder.

(Also, Aayla Secura vs Ahsoka when?)

We know very little to nothing of Secura's combat prowess in Canon. The best we can say is that she might be an Ataru and Shien specialist.

obi dobi wins, my son. for one, an experienced man like him always brings his own high ground (collectors edition), and secondly, ahsoka is a slight knock off of anakin, whom obi wan, albeit weaker than, was a perfect match agasint (i mean skill wise, and not anything else. she is different, but not nearly as agressive, meaning less work for obi wan, and not nearly as experienced, much less if i have to compare their strength and skill with the force). he has all that anakin has, but more. he was only slightly weaker with the force than anakin, but that was it. he supirior to him in any other way (strength in the force matters heavily even a random LS duel, since it defines how fast u move, react, and dodge on how much u can amp ur body with the force). and this is all obi wan pre his old self. old self is stronger, i believe. only thing he may have lost is movement speed and agility.
