"Negative mass is matter whose mass is of opposite sign to the mass of normal matter, e.g. 1 kg." This is similar, if not the same thing, to negative energy which is why Hawking Radiation causes Black holes to evaporate. As far as I can tell, negative mass either has negative energy or acts similarly enough to it.
My first question is, if a character were able to create Negative energy/matter/mass, would it be fair to assume they could evaporate a black hole? If not, my second question is would we have to see it cause an explosion from the evaporated black hole to determine if it was a true black hole that was evaporated and true negative energy/matter that was used?
