my line of thought is because Edo Tensei fellas don't have full control of their minds, rather being controlled by the user of the jutsu
So I-Tsukuyomi wouldn't work on them, but rather on the user and Kotoamatsukami worked because of how it was used, severing the link between Kabuto and Itachi

From what i recall, Itachi made the crow specifically to not let himself be controlled if he were to be ressurected, and that's how he fully started being himself again and did all he did

We have confirmed statement that it doesn’t work on reanimated characters.
And IT is not deep forest emergence, it’s the roots of the god tree absorbing and turning living people into zetsus. Hence it does not work on things that it cannot turn into zetsus

He literarly used deep forest emerge to bind them to god tree even hashirama said it was deep forest emerge and it attacked reanimated characters to but they easily escape through it because inifnity tsukiyomi didnt work on them

There's nothing special about edo tensei that'll prevent genjutsu (as we understand it) to work on them
You can't even cope with "muh Koto is a special genjutsu" because Kabuto put itachi in genjutsu via tayuya's stuff
Kishi wanted the kages to be around and he simply made it happen
No need to overcomplicate things

It's not just koto. All genjutsu works.
Itachi also gets caught in sound genjutsu and gets freed of it by EMS genjutsu.
Realistically it's just plot convenience like Test said. If you want an inverse explanation it's probably what Alt said.

Infinite Tsukuyomi is programmed to trap living entities on that planet. Whether this is inherent or conscious programming is unknown.
Edo tensei chakra does not register as chakra from a living entity, so the roots being programmed by IT don't go after edo tensei beings. However, make no mistake, the divine tree can suck chakra out of any being, living or non-living.

Nah that was the curse mark receding, the curse mark spreads cross the user in its first stage and then does a physical transformation in the second stage.
We see that the mark tried to do its first stage but got shut down and receded back to its original position until it was no more there to begin with

It's tertiary canon
It can be used when there's existing showings in the primary canon
For example, if we see a blizzard in the manga and the novel tells us that the blizzard is AZ temperatures, it can be used
But there's no such thing like that in the manga (or anime)

afaik there's no contradiction with its existence and the arc where it's utilized is directly referenced in the manga so
the ability is hardly relevant in the anime once the kara arc comes around anyways whether it's canon or not really doesn't matter

I assumed the four Hokage weren't affected because their bodies consisted of White Zetsu, similar to how Yamato fell under the genjutsu once he came out of White Zets
