I don’t think we should be complaining about Naruto downgrades compared to bleach, bleach got its ass beat by AKM and got nuked from tier 3 to 6 while at least Naruto at least stays in Tier 5
The 5B calc did get replaced but it’s in a way Slayer’s way of doing what he thought was safeguarding the next best tier for the feat which doesn’t allow someone to completely dismiss a genuinely good feat with the excuse of assumed timeframe and continuity issues

I’ve come to appreciate how Naruto is done here compared to other verses
I recently saw dxd get cooked to death and one of it’s few (only) supporters completely leave for a year, naruto on the other hand at least has a good set of active reasonable supporters and will at least pushback against bad downgrades
Im fine with bleach being higher as long as people are not gatekeeping Naruto due to personal biases and the last thread proved that’s not the case so im cool with things here

That was in the past, and now the so-called god-tier characters are back at Tier 3 but I digress. Let's not forget that Naruto has never had it easy on this Wiki either and anyone who has been around long enough can tell you that. However, out of the entire Big 3, we can say Naruto holds the highest number of Tier 5 feats.
I honestly wanted to lay back and just enjoy this moment until I saw those statements from Damage. He outright admitted to downgrading the verse simply because he faces less pushback from the mods and now he is trying to backtrack. But Somehow, that flew over people's heads, whatever. Don't worry guys he will soon strike again maybe then it will finally done on you.

I mean, simply put, at the end of the day Damage only makes an argument. How mods view his argument is out of his control, even if he were to have “nefarious” intentions. If Naruto verse was downgraded, that just means he had the better argument.

I don’t think that analogy applies to striking strength and durability anti feats as they’re wholly different things (it’s also an assertion with no support for askin case, nothing implies he’s an idiot)
Saying characters will be able to survive things in vs matches that they couldn’t in canon is weird

it wasnt really being used as analogy for askin directly, it was an example to highlight people can be fearful of things irrationally, and in writing it can be used as a device to express something specific outside of direct powerscaling. (for example Pain's 5 second timer is obviously meant to heighten tension and to convey a brief window of time to general readers that isnt too abstract"
sure this is fine and all if Askin was like a regular dude with no other feats but we know he has scaling and actual feats that would make the idea of some debris potentially killing him absurd, similar to how Obito even considered that some small boulder would be dangerous enough to kakashi that he willingly pushed him aside in a moment of self sacrifice. or how databook 4 makes like a massive deal about might guy being able to break boulders.

yeah askin IS featless lmao, his profile only has one feat post auswahlen where he takes advantage of a poisoned kirinji, everything else comes from very charitable interpretations of some statements, I don't think it's absurd for downgraded tiering if multiple counter evidences exist, especially ones as blatant as candace's stated-by-author official joule count

Look at the majority of the community coming together to dispel the “me vs them” mindset 
it’s in the same vein of people using sound based attacks in FTL verses
actually his scaling comes from the Elite Sternritter being > most of the non elite Sternritter. But yeah in terms of who he fights (outside of speed since he has plenty of speed feats), he doesn’t have too many quantifiable AP feats. But we can scale characters off of clear cut statements. Manga states the elites are the strongest Sternritter, anime says the same thing, CFYOW calls them unparalleled. That’s to say Askin is consistently above your normal Sternritter (Bambis, Bazz, Robert Acutrone, etc etc etc). And ignoring multipliers for a second, the normal Sternritter get their scaling from fighting Captains who scale above the Gran Rey Cero and Sokyoku spear, or even stuff like Toshiro’s weather manipulation and SS arc Ichigo and gang shaking the shakonmaku. All of which are massively above wall level (vary from mountain level to multi continental depending on interpretation). So, while Askin isn’t going around doing lots of destruction, his scaling is consistently above wall level or building level or whatever. If we scaled characters solely based on what they did empirically we’d have Blue Vegito at building level or adult Naruto and Sasuke at street level. But obviously that’s not the author’s intention, they establish characters strength through keystone statements and feats so they don’t have to have every character they write nuke the planet with every attack. It’s a concession power scaling makes. Candice’s 5 gigajoule statement is a funny downplay statement tho for debate gooning

that's why I said charitable interpretations because calling someone unrivalled doesnt mean its exclusively talking about punching power as opposed to skill set, intelligence, physiological qualities, hax abilities etc
Also I don't think the sound based attack argument is the same as this, a blatant value the author gives you isnt the same as things commonly ignored in powerscaling, the latter is as it is now because they're not major or explicit, if you want to get your 7A, 6B, 6A bleach scaling based on "author statements" you'd have to accept the 5 giga joules thing as well, you don't get to have both sides
