So some people think that Naruto and Sasuke have lost their six paths chakra, that hagoromo gave them, which lead them to the belief that the adult versions of these two characters are weaker than the ones that fought Kaguya. Here is a theory that explains how their adult states are able to fight a threat greater than Kaguya, even while weakened. Firstly people think that once they lost the seals they became a lot weaker and went downhill from there. This in fact is not true and here is why. If that was the case they would have been notably weaker in their final fight. Sasuke's own chakra would not be able to support such a powerful rinnegan, and Naruto would only have the Bijuu's chakra not the rest of the sage power. Therefore their AP would have dropped, along with speed and resceptive capabilities. This is clearly not the case in the fight, as a matter of fact after they lost the seals, Sasuke showed better mastry of the Rinnegan than before, when he instantaneously put the bijuu under genjutsu, then put them each in a chibaku tensei. Here is where my theory comes in, they absorbed the six paths chakra into their base forms. This explains why a weakened base Naruto can swap hands with Momoshiki, and why base Sasuke's managment of the rinnegan improved so massively. The mode Naruto enters is a result of him adding tailed beast chakra into the mix, making him significantly stronger. Sasuke's six paths chakra acts as the tomoe in his rinnegan when he is low on six paths chakra the tomoe go away, and when Naruto goes low on both chakras, like when he fought toneri, he goes into an inferior form.
