I mean, seeing how we are dealing with a red baby that prevents anything from being brought back into existence, you're not wrong.

I'm not even sure about Discord anymore. People say he starts with thinking and power null, but this is never in character for him. He starts with an assortment of abilities throughout the show, and I can only recall him using power null once or twice.

Exactly. He only used power nullification when removing the horns and wings of the mane six. In fact, every other appearance doesn't involve him removing power. GOLB, on the other hand, temporarily nullified the power of the Ice King's crown, which was said to grant the wishes of whoever wore it. And even if it got it's power back, it was unable to banish him or even erase him from existence.
