Minecraft discussion thread

Ok, just to clarify, I'm ok with 'ol Jean having 2-C environmental destruction and some extra pretty busted hax from this, but like... I really hate the idea of tier 3/2 Steve, the only things that should have that rating are the Admins and the Command Block from Story Mode, at least that f*cking MAKES SENSE in the story and doesn't completely break how... EVERYTHING is

I DO NOT WANT STEVE TO BECOME ANOTHER KRATOS OR DOOM SLAYER, I CAN'T HANDLE THAT KINDA HEAT RN

Minecraft agenda scalers gonna use this argument to win against Terrarian if that makes you more worried. More agenda

Nah, creative Steve + command block meta solo + End poem solo. Trust
Tbf, if they really, and I mean REALLY want to give Steve commands, they could use Story Mode to argue that he could find the command block the same way the Order of the Stone did, but that’d also be a very stupid argument that objectivity shouldn’t be used

They said instant transmission gives Goku immeasurable speed...at this point, nothing is out of the question

Just to update you guys on the sculk speed stuff, there are only 4 potential anti-feats I know of, and they're all kinda bunk
  1. "Arrows can't be that fast, that's not realistic!" Yeah, so are blocks floating in the air, water buckets that can fit infinite amounts of water, and cows reaching adulthood in less than an hour. If Minecraft doesn't care about realism, neither shall we
  2. "What about the speedometer in the glide minigame?" That's from the legacy console edition, which never got the update that added sculk sensors, so they couldn't have accounted for the speed of sound waves even if they wanted to
  3. "There's this one achievement that explicitly says you need to be going at 40 m/s, the same as the in-game speed." Look at the name for that achievement and come back to me when you're done (also, that was added before skulk sensors, and it'd be confusing as hell if they said "just go fast teehee :]" like, how fast though?)
  4. "In the Mobestiary, it says the days are 20 minutes long, so this is incorrect." Seems promising at first, but if we go by this same logic, any game that features a timer that matches real time would need to be downgraded to absolute horse shit, even though that's rarely the case in how they're presented. Also, this'd make BotW/TotK Link 1/60th of the speed he appears to go at due to the clock operating at 1 in-game hour per 1 real-world minute, which like... no? Basically, what I'm trying to say is long-term timeframes rarely line up with short-term timeframes in the way cinematic time is handled, and therefore, days lasting 20 minutes both in and out of game shouldn't be seen as a sign that EVERYTHING in Minecraft is also happening in real time

I just realized smth
Since the recipe book is representative of Steve's memory on crafting recipes, wouldn't the fact that he can instantly know how to craft certain items upon collecting the necessary materials, as well as perfectly recall any and all recipes on the fly, be a pretty massive intelligence feat, or am I just reading too much into a simple quality of life feature?

Hey guys, I'm finally starting on my big ass CRT project, which I haven't shut up about for nearly a year. Does anybody want to help contribute to the first part? (it'll be about speed and LS)

How many parts do you think there will be?

So, sulfur slimes, does the fact Steve just get's nausea when swimming on sulfur water means he has some resistence to toxins?

Unlike the blocks held in Steve’s inventory, we can confirm that the blocks Sulfur Cubes hold do have mass to them, and since gold blocks are heavier than the player, that means the snowballs have more force when knocking them back
ok, after doing some testing, Sulfur Cubes with gold blocks get knocked back far slower than regular Mobs (like, a little under 1 m/s rather than 4 m/s), so all it does is provide support for the 9-C+ low-end
damn, at least we can do Snow Golem vs Dexter now ig

WAIT, Diamond might actually get some good results

Great news, everyone, I've figured out how to record the travel speeds of Mobs using a modified datapack I found, so now I can FINALLY make a definitive list of all their different speeds so they can be properly compared to the Sculk soundwaves and everybody will become around Subsonic just like God intended

If you make a list I can put the values in my spreed sheet to calculate the values automatically

Sulfur Cubes' mass changing depending on the block they have is definitely a cool feature. I wonder if there's any other LS upgrades that could come from it.
