I mean, I already did a calc based on this, and it got accepted, and I can’t really think of a reason why it wouldn’t work, so…I heard staff hate that
Yeah, also, the Warden’s attacks are literally called sonic booms, and because real life sonic booms occur when something is moving faster than sound, it adds more credence to the idea that skulk vibrations are in fact that fast. Also a calculation for how fast the warden’s sound moves in real time since I imagine it may actually be faster than sound considering it’s a single frame over a hundred or so meters. Especially since Minecraft’s frames per second can be set cartoonishly high.
I agree with itIt's been a while and seen to me people are more agreable to that... how yall feel about updating minecraft speed based on skulk hearing?

He was saying that skulk can't be sound speed or something like that, I forgot the debate that happened at the timesee if you can get CGM accept for it since the only comment is from mr. bambu saying it's not done that way (idk if that means you're going to have to manually measure the speed value)
Can you link to it? Since it seems pretty clear cut in regards to them being legit sound wavesHe was saying that skulk can't be sound speed or something like that, I forgot the debate that happened at the time

Reading through it, Bambu was against assuming the time it takes for the sensor to detect the sound perfectly correlates with the speed of the soundwaves themselves, which would be a fair point if this was wasn't a visual thing. However, the fact that we visually SEE the vibrations in-game as particles, with them literally being directly STATED to be vibrations several times makes me not understand his argument![]()

Kinda late but yes, the warden sonic boom is instantenious. There is no show travel speed on the attackI could have sworn his attack is a true hit scan and thus it’s a frame, but I will check and see if it works off ticks instead.
(Ps: we can actually see the particles that represent sound moving in game so It's not just skulk reacting but instead we see the sound travelling in space)
Imo, I think it’d be better to make a new calc blog based off of the speed of the sound particles the Minecraft Wiki gives us (20 m/s) as that’s probably more accurate than us simply estimating its speedI added this as a disclaimer in my calc, do you think is more clear now that we can see the sound moving?
fair enough, I can try doing this later, can you link me the article that states the particle speed?Imo, I think it’d be better to make a new calc blog based off of the speed of the sound particles the Minecraft Wiki gives us (20 m/s) as that’s probably more accurate than us simply estimating its speed
When a vibration is made within the range of a sculk sensor, a signal travels from the vibration source to the sensor at a speed of one block per game tick (20 blocks per second). When the signal arrives, the sensor is activated for 30 game ticks (1.5 seconds). The sensor cannot detect any other vibrations while activated or while a signal is traveling to it.
fixed, now It links to a video about sculkthe reference video in the blog is a dead link
Remember to properly include the links to the pages in question (Because Fandom sucks, it doesn't allow you to link to other wiki-hosting sites, so you'll unfortunately need to link to the old Minecraft Wiki instead). Also, remember to include some of the justifications for these being sound waves, you can copy over the explanation from my blog if you want to.Okay, now I'm finished, the problem was Wiki Fandom not letting me make a post with links for other wikis, makes sense
also yes, I wrote Sculk wrong in the title![]()

Tbh, I wouldn’t actually hate making profiles for marketplace stuff directly overseen by Mojang (provided that they’re more than simple skin or texture packs and actually contain some kind of original plot or gameplay)We really should make profiles for thouse minecraft collabs, like tetris, the batman one, etc
Like the tetris one, being a entire dungeon crawler gamemode with custom enemies and bossesTbh, I wouldn’t actually hate making profiles for marketplace stuff directly overseen by Mojang (provided that they’re more than simple skin or texture packs and actually contain some kind of original plot or gameplay)
