Meruem is one of the most powerful of Hunter x Hunter however in my opinion the characters of that series are far below the level that have those of Naruto. Still limited I think that Madara is very superior because of the vast variety of resources he has, he has a great Taijutsu that combined with the precognition of the Sharingan makes it difficult to fight him in body to body, has Genjutsu to realize illusions and of course they can affect Meruem So it is one more disadvantage, his Ninjutsu arsenal is quite broad. Your Gunbai allows you to block extremely destructive attacks by making the most powerful attacks Meruem could perform.

Well, I always use the argument that he could predict the opponent's moves even more wiht equalized speed. Madara could use Tengai Shinsei to crush Meruem or make countless mokubushin to to defeat him easily

Madara takes this without any difficulty, dont see Meruem doing anything against Susano'o, Genjutsu, Limbo etc. Madara got much better d/c and durability. Most of all he's just way too hax for Meruem.
