Badgered was a term I shouldn't have used, but it's against the rules to directly ask an author about power scaling statements solely for an upgrade. Which is what you were doing.

We got halfway there, I think we should just take our loses for right now and see if we can find anymore evidence.

People constantly pestered and bothered authors to get the statements they wanted, pretty much just fishing for answers for the sake of upgrades.

Because it's to prevent people from forcing in an upgrade based on leading questions. Which as an example, is exactly what you were trying to do.
