While rewatching Loki, I’m noticing some noticeable time shenanigans that with recent MCU content might grant a huge upscale to Loki. This also might or might not be Loki agenda but bear with me.
The Order of The Watchers and the TVA
The marvel multiverse is called a “Low 1-C (5D)” structure on the cosmology page which includes all the timelines plus Yggdrasil. The observational plane is confirmed to be a higher dimensional structure infinite in size. It is said to be apart of the “5th dimension” which sits above the multiverse and is shown in What If to include incomprehensibly large, including more than just the infinite observational plane. Like the Order of The Watchers home base. It is stated to be “a higher plane of existence” multiple times throughout the last episodes of what if. The order and the TVA both share the similarity to of being above the multiverse and outside of time. Like all dimensions in the marvel multiverse that claim to be “outside of time”, time does still exists, but instead of flowing like normally it happens all at once; but is still narratively portrayed to be without time. Ouroboros remembering Loki while he spoke to him in the past supports this. We also know that prior to Loki, there was only one timeline thanks to the tva. The watchers refer to the multiverse as to always have existed, which would technically be truth if it was born when Loki created Yggdrasil. When all of the timelines died, Loki brought back (all of existence) the moment they disappeared; the Ben 10 dilemma. Since the events inside the tva happened outside of time and above the multiverse, it would have always existed to anyone below the tva after Loki allowed the Multiverse to exist. The Watcher is aware of the TVA, (as revealed by the conversation with Ms. Minutes at the end of the AVP game) but this does not automatically mean he is aware that there used to only be one timeline. To my knowledge he has never mentioned hwr or the sacred timeline. This could also explain why The Watchers are different than when they were last seen in GOTG2. New ones were created when the multiverse was born.
Timeslipping
Time slipping is Loki’s most significant ability and I barely see anyone talking about it. Timeslipping is described to be “controlling time” by He Who Remains (HWR). While using the Tempad HWR was not only able to pause Sylvie, but completely remove her from the timeline, while Loki was able to bring her back. He could slip through even the TVA, where the infinity stones are rendered useless. It stands that he could remove people from the timeline anywhere in existence (all of existence ended at one time as Loki said, except he and HWR were the only ones time slipping through it).
Yggdrasil and the God of Stories
Loki is inside Yggrdrasil which sits at the end of time powering the multiverse at it’s convergence point (HWR states that the citadel sits at the point where everything ends, you could see the sacred timeline here so it makes sense he powers the multiverse here). He is stated to be the (“God of Stories” and said to be like “a librarian overseeing his library”); the library being the multiverse of course. While the tree has been seen and threatened, simply reaching the end point of all timelines and enchanting the tree that Loki is just powering is not that big. None of that points to specifically threatening Loki himself. While this Loki still has access to all his magic. He has to have infinite energy to power all the timelines in the multiverse. He could create clones that he could control. His clones have been shown using magic so they would theoretically be able to timeslip other people, nullifying most if not all of the marvel movie multiverse.
Strongest in the Multiverse
Connecting it all together, when you view the new content marvel has given us it seems very clear that they want to portray the TVA as above the watchers. This would make the TVA a “6th dimension”, or a 7-8th Dimensional structure, layers above the multiverse and the 5th dimension. This would reasonably put Loki and HWR at High 1-C but I’m new to this scaling stuff so I could be wrong. This is all definitely a highball anyways but it also seems very fair and possible to me. Would like to hear other opinions from people smarter than me.
