We mostly discuss and debate fictional material, where not all laws, logic, physics, etc apply equally. It's very true that someone or something with any notable size passing through at the speed of light would cause destruction, but it's not a rule for something to be light-speed in fiction.

Fiction ignores this majority of the time. We don't use this to discredit certain speed feats. Heck, moving at speed such as Hypersonic should cause destruction but it's not always happening.

Yeah, any "regular human" running at/over 6,000 km/h (about Mach 4.86) would cremate themselves, while clothes would catch on fire even before that around 2,500 km/h (about Mach 2.02)
