Light speed questions

Is the mention of light/laser beam necessery for light speed requirements?
by that i mean, if an attack is portrayed as the traditional light beam (cylinder bright colored glowing beam), but never stated to be one ( light/laser), and it still has some requirements/similitudes with light like coming from a realistic source (modified camera in this case), and using heat for its destructive capacity, can we still consider it is light speed ? or at least possibly light speed ?

Technically I think a statement isn't necessary (if I turn on a flashlight it's obvious it's producing light lol) but without it you will need even stronger evidence of it being light than usually.

If it's clearly just light, it should be. (Like a light from a normal camera etc)

Though it might change if it's inconsistent etc.

thing it its not an actual camera its a modified one, but the beam light thingy comes from the hole that takes photos anyway
