I'm not sure if Mystery alone is enough to hit an intangible being/spirit since no Servant has shown the ability to hit another Servant while in their Spirit Form.

I remember only one example where one Servant detected another in the Spirit form. It was Lancer who didn't even attack but just commented about Archer.

That's what I mean. It's only example where the Servant detected another. And Lancer didn't go offensive - he just talked with Rin.

I understand that, but the point is that no Servant has overcome intangibility through sheer Mystery. Skilled Servants can detect those that are intangible, but they fail to actually make an offensive against one.

We didn't even see them trying. It can be outright impossible or just useless since Servant can materialize instantly.

Still, it would have been awfully helpful to turn into Spirit Form and get far away from attacks like Gae Bolg and Tsubame Gaeshi.

Hm... It can probably mean that such attacks will hit even if enemy goes into Spirit Form.
