A particularly pissed off metagross on Metagross Mountain is known for killing humans for fun and would have demolished Team Rocket and ate their balloon as dessert if Ash and his friends didn't stop them with their best pokemon.
Now give it a killer instinct and the ability to explode itself so strongly that any city wouldn't survive it, let alone a human. Mega Metagross is over 8 feet tall too, and can crush anything with its weight of nearly 2 tons (about 1 metric tonne). All it has to do is just drop itself from any height over maybe 2 feet onto the desired target.
Have you read Mega Metagross's Pokedex entry. Nobody less powerfull than a god fights a Mega Metagross and lives to tell the tale.
