You know what, I can see this being a thing if it happened in Canon.

Part 4 Jotaro doesn't get many chances to show off his smarts unlike Part 3 but I don't think he's lost that edge. Also, I can't see edgy teen jotaro having spent any time on chess, while calm Professor Kujo approaching his 30's is more likely to have given it a shot. And obviously he knows his old self much better.
