Are MFTL+ stands not outliers?

Star Platinum portrayed as faster than a bullet.

Stand much faster than Star Platinum portrayed as much much faster than a bullet.

Silver Chariot being faster than the human eye can see.

Star Platinum said to be unable to swap 5 cards for a select 5 cards he needs while D'Arby is watching.

Emerald Spash casually getting dismissed by DIO, who definitely isn't MFTL+

Well, Silver Chariot sliced a stand that was literally an energy of light, Star Platinum matched and parred against Silver Chariot, DIO's stand is comparable to Jotaro's. I'm just doing a rough statement, although there are more obvious feats than what I'm spewing at the moment.

Yes, but that is the only thing that puts them at that level of speed. Would that not be an outlier?

In order for it to be an outlier, the feat would have to be otherwise proven inconsistent, which in this case is not. Jotaro has been consistent with the speed given. The feats you shown would be considered low ball feats in my opinion. It's kind of like when the flash breaks the sound barrier in a fight. It happens but he's far surpassed it. Get what I'm saying?

Also understand that the speed (as well as other things) follow their level that are given to them by the author themselves by ranking in letters.

D'Arby proves it to be inconsistent. A bullet speed power wouldn't be able to do that, but a MFTL+ power should be able to do it without trying.

Tower of Grey too. He explains his speed to be able to dodge 10 point blank bullets, and SP can't even touch him.

The incident of Tower of Gray was when Jotaro was still getting used to Star Platinum, seeing as he "evolved" during his progress.


The same goes for D'arby. Do note that the feats they show on the page is the most recent, unless they have a key on the bottom showing the "evolution."

Yeah, totally not an outlier.

An entire part earlier, Joseph stopped himself from being hit by a laser at near point blank range, and a severely wounded Kars blocked ultra violet light which was, at the very most, a few feet from his face.

Then there's WoG confirming a much weaker SP to be faster than the speed of light.

Then there's the fact that DIO himself is already much faster than people who are FTL+, so being able to block a MFTL attack isn't out of the ordinary.

Also, you're taking the D'Arby thing way out of context. Jotaro says that SP would be unable to "cheat someone like D'Arby". D'Arby is a master con artist who has been doing this for years and, on top of that, is ALSO a Stand user. Everything about this line and scenario points to "D'Arby is too good to be cheated so easily" as opposed to "Star Platinum is slower than light".

The entire D'Arby bluff was "He couldn't possibly be fast enough to switch all those cards without be noticing!" and Jotaro making him think he can by getting a cigarette and a drink. I am certainly not taking that out of context.

A FTL+ character should not be able to casually block a MFTL attack twice in a row with one hand. That doesn't make any sense. But if the stands were just FTL-FTL++, that makes ton more sense.

FTL+ is what they should be.

No, you most certainly are. If D'Arby couldn't see Jotaro snag the cigarette and the drink, he wouldn't be able to see Jotaro switch his cards. This does not equate to him not noticing anything off or that he had been cheated. As I already said, he's a skilled con man. However, by NOT messing with the cards yet still maintaining his bluff, Jotaro tricked D'Arby into believing he had been able to do something completely without his notice, when in reality, he hadn't done anything to the cards. D'Arby's own doubt was his downfall.

Again, at least FTL+. The FTL+ feat he's scaled from was done incredibly casually by someone who was heavily wounded. There's also the fact that Dio was, again, in possession of an incredibly powerful Stand, who most certainly is MFTL (and is also, like with all Stands, a part of him).

I also don't see why you are now saying they should be FTL+, when in the OP, many of the things you brought up could be accomplished by Hypersonic characters, and if you truly believe that Silver Chariot's showing is an outlier, FTL+ would make no more sense.

Most of the points present here are PIS or just Araki not being aware of how fast he is making his characters, the first two points are invalid because that was a time where Jotaro Kujo was not in complete mastery of his stand power yet. The rest of the feats are not outliers as the characters clearly state how fast they are, and seeing as those speeds the characters mention are not their limits (and they perform or scale to MFTL stands) then I don't see the problem.

Darby is a stand user my friend, and because he is such he is instantly given enhanced stats at the least. Rohan Kishibe being able to block CD's punches with a manuscript and so on. There are feats upon feats of stand users performing super human actions. So Darby being able to notice a MFTL stand will not surprise me in the slightest.You also have statements from WoG stating that Star Platinum is faster than the speed of light

tl:dr: first two points are for a newbie Star Platinum whose stats were low during the time of the two scans, how does SC going "much faster than the human eye can percieve" debunk mftl speed?, Darby is a stand user therefore he has enhanced stats examples include Rohan being able to block CD punches with raw reaction speed and maybe I can agree with the Kakyoin stuff, I think a FTL possibly MFTL stand speed ranking would suite him best.
