That is an assumption.

Given what we have seen between Jiren and MUI Goku the most logical guess is that the universal destruction comes from them using their full power (i.e blasts) or Hakai energy or something. Also those waves from SSG vs Beerus.

Well there was no indication of anything like that. We were shown that Beerus and Champa were exchanging punches and kicks, and the angels simply said that if they continue like that, both universes will be destroyed.

1. Never said it doesn't take some time. But obviously it doesn't take days going by the sense of Angels stopping them immediately.

2. There is no mention of hakai energy anywhere in that scene, it wasn't even introduced at that time. It was stated "If they kept fighting like that". Like what? They were literally just throwing punches and kicks.

3. Not even MUI goku and Limit breaker Jiren destroy planets with a small ki blast.

Toppo was fighting at full power, while I doubt Beerus and Champa were giving their 100% in that brief exchange.
