Jimmy Hopkins vs Karma Akabane (0-0-0)

These two genius, fearless, teenage fighters who stand up to bullies, psychos and corrupt authority figures shall duke it out, but only one will reign as king of the school.

Music for the fight

Speed is equalized

Both are in-character

The fight is in neutral territory (an empty, three-story office building)

Both start 20 meters apart

"I'm not the one who's funny. You know what's funny? You. You're a joke, you old creep. You and your stuck-up, lame ass school, with its bullies, sex-pest teachers...this place is a dump, and you're a big-nosed freak! This school rewards losers and bullies - I just stand up to them!":

"You ought to be glad your target can move at Mach 20. Otherwise you'd be a mass murderer now. This is your fault. If you've got time to play the blame game... why don't you use your head to think about what you should really be doing now?":

Inconclusive:

Jimmy is skilled enough to easily take on opponents stronger than him like Russell. He can also defeat multiple opponents at once. I am not familiar with Karma though. How is his skill? Does he defeat opponents stronger than him or face multiple at once?

Oooo... Based on what's written about him, just from Karma's Powers and Abilities section alone, Karma has two abilities that would allow him to make use of whatever Jimmy could do: Power Mimicry and Analytical Prediction. While Jimmy Hopkins is smart enough to basically turn the mafia law of the school he went to in a complete 180, which itself is not an easy task, Karma's classes are specifically geared towards assassination, and hitmen are no joke. Sure, Gary started a riot that not even police can handle, but the January 6th rioters aren't hired assassins, just people who were rallied under one figurehead. I don't think that's doing Jimmy any favors.

This isn't including the more supernatural stuff, which Jimmy Hopkins never really handled outside maybe Fear Inducement for not being stupid enough to let anyone brainwash him.

I feel Karma is more likely to take Jimmy down than Jimmy would be to take Karma down.

Jimmy being a karate master looks cool but I think Karma is way more skilled in killing and overall combat due to being an Assassin. I also don't see what Jimmy is doing against this

Voting Karma

Jimmy could also:

- Scare Karma away from the fight with his social influencing; all he needs to do is say something like "yo mama" once and Karma will become terrified and run away

- Stun and overwhelm Karma with stink bombs (which is so foul that a character who loves the taste of toilet water is grossed out by them), itching powder, the rubber band ball, or marbles, and then whale on him with his other weapons

- Plow through Karma's attacks with his durability advantage and disarm him

- Instantly keep up with Karma's superior skills and powers with his Accelerated Development

- Heal himself

Karma is capable of overriding bloodlust with his own. I don't think that's gonna work

Ye huh that's not gonna be that easy
- Plow through Karma's attacks with his durability advantage and disarm him
Not gonna happen if he gets outskilled
- Instantly keep up with Karma's superior skills and powers with his Accelerated Development

Karma's better
- Heal himself
That's if he doesn't end up dead by then

I can see Karma Fear haxing and simply outskilling Jimmy before he does anything too dangerous

Voting Karma
I vote for Karma Akabane winning the battle based on the quoted reasons.

The points for Karma also seem valid so far. It seems like it'd go similarly to the Grip fight, where Karma very specifically showed off his ability to effectively outmaneuver someone who had a oneshot-worthy strength and endurance advantage
