I think Tighten is slightly better experienced in combat thanks to Megamind. Could be wrong though. His LS is definitely way higher though.
 
Megamind did technically train Tighten. I think he and Homelander are overall equal in skill. The question is who can do what to win.

Tighten is twice as strong, has Class G LS outclassing Homie by a mile, has FAR bigger range and has some resistance to heat as he sucked up fire.
His heat vision should just be better than Homelander's anyways since it slashed through buildings and cities casually while Home's only melted a plane so far.

Overall, Tighten would grab Homelander and do to him what he did to that one Megamind mannequin during his training.
 
Tighten is shown to be extremely bad at fighting in general while Homelander fought against many trained people and had actual combat skill.

He just outskills and bullies Tighten since Tighten never uses LS

nah, Tighten was trained by MM and fought MM mega suit. MM is skilled enough to be a worthy opponent for Metro Man for quite a while so assuming that he can't fight someone like Homelander is rather foolish.

Metro Man was quite literally holding back plus Metro Man has literally no skill feats, HE NEVER HAD TO TRAIN IN HIS LIFE.

Homelander on the other hand has experience 1v2ing and 1v3ing people who can hurt him...

He fenced with MM using lightpoles, he got trained in combat a lot, strength was a factor but it is a factor here as well, don't forget.

OK fair but then there's the fact that MM is a genius who can clearly efficiently operate his own machines and had to keep improving to try and top Metro Man.

Doesn't mean he can evade far superior eye lasers or avoid close combat in which Tighten would only need to grab him once to fold him, something that Tighten is trained to do as he does it during his training.
During his fights people land punches on him very much, not to mention Tighten relies on flight far more and far more efficiently.
 
Homelander should be a better fighter up close, since he could throw hands with Soldier Boy who has actual military training and Billy Butcher at the same time.

Tighten is some random dude that has zero hand to hand combat training. The "training" Megamind gave him was for him getting used to his powers. Megamind himself has no real good combat feats and both are shown to be, well very goofy in their fighting styles, which are very ineffective.

However, it's not like Homelander skill stomps him. He's no better than real life trained soldiers, who can still be hit by normal people. But in this case, Tighten is over 2x stronger and crushes him with his LS. He'll have more confidence when he notices that Homelander is noticeably weaker than him and can overpower him with LS.

Homelander loves to grapple with people, so it won't take Tighten long to realize he can effortlessly overpower Homelander and just hold him down. The fight is basically over at that point and Homelander isn't good enough to take down Tighten before he realizes this, yes even despite how dumb he is.

MM is a MECHANICAL genius. We have no idea if he is a genius in combat, he also is generally bad at planning...

Doesn't matter when Homelander isn't some dodge god and constantly gets hit by people. He gets folded in close combat the moment he gets grabbed once. A single punch here would already do significant damage.

We know that he has experience fighting Metro Man in different ways which suggests he is battle hardened at this point. Weird of you to try and argue that he is a mechanical genius and try to bring up the anti feat that he is bad at planning.

He did it against people he knew were weaker than him. We never see anyone of his size try to properly fight him up close. What we do know is that when training one of the strats he employed was indeed grabbing someone and burning their face off.

But not some dodging gods who evade every hit and grab. Tighten here is strong enough to bulldoze through a hit or two and grab onto his opponent in which case it is over.
