Is MTL + Raws allowed?

What I mean is that we use MTL with raws that are in the original language without translation, because it would be proof of both if someone translates the raws and proves that they are exactly as the MTL translates them. Would this be acceptable if we created a thread and used this method?

Raws should always accompany it regardless.

Like what if it's MTL, the raw there, and then someone checks and it DOES say something diff? At the very least run it by someone who knows a bit of the language if it aint the most obvious shit like "goku can fly".

Yes, MTL alone is never enough. The raw must always be included, especially for controversial or abstract feats.

Additionally, while official translations are preferred, fan translations that are of good and very reliable quality will also be accepted. For works that have not been officially translated, the use of original raw texts and associated translations is preferred, but it should be noted that for fully fan translated works like Visual Novels, Web Novels, etc., it may not be practical or feasible for participants to locate raw texts for the entire work and present them alongside the scan. In situations where the reliability of publicly available material is in question, the analysis of re-translations performed by members of the VSBW may be used as a means of evaluation. However, it should be noted that these translations may not necessarily be considered superior to official translations and should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Machine translation is not an acceptable alternative, as it is prone to errors and mistranslation, and would have to be re-evaluated by members of VSBW anyway, rendering it redundant.

If that is the case, then it means that even if I use the exact characters from the original text alongside those rendered by machine translation or from a fan fiction website, it will not be accepted or in other words, it simply cannot be used. Any translation errors would force me to start over entirely, which introduces an abundance of complications. For instance, consider how Rimuru’s dialogue in Tensura is handled, correct? This implies that there is no alternative but to wait for the official translation from the VS Battles Wiki source, does it not? Yet that too presents a significant problem, for nobody is eager to undertake the translation of such an immense volume of text that inevitably exhausts them.

Ehhhhh just highlight the relevant slop that's important and get that checked.
We're not gonna make you do a whole ass novel.

Edited MTL IS allowed within reason.

Ah, so does that mean I can still use machine translations alongside the raw text, as long as I’m only referencing a limited portion of the content not the entire work? Would that be acceptable? Or even in such a case, where I’m translating from the official raw using MTL solely for reference purposes, would I still be required to wait for some kind of review or approval process?

No, you still need to get the translation checked and at that point, you might rather just send the raw scene and let a trusted member translate it
