So people bring the line from vol23 MTL to says how big the verse
"Swimu originally swims between the stars of different worlds, vaster than thousands of universes. Their maximum battle speed reaches sublight speed, and they are a natural disaster that has destroyed countless interstellar nations by leaping through space via Otherworld Gates that they generate as easily as breathing". Page 57
As you can see using this MTL they claim that in this cosmology "Star" > 1000s of universes.
But here my 2 cent on this MTL.
1- "swim" here refers to traveling between worlds in different solar system which is done through otherworld gates.
2- "swims between the stars of different worlds" defined a solar system
3- Vaster than thousand of universes is MTL strike again for maybe "Vaster than thousand worlds/planets" as stars can be 1000s of time bigger than planet.
4- Maximum battle speed reaches sublight speed.
5- Intersteller nations(Interstellar nation control star systems within one galaxy) so only one galaxy for all those nations to work on. As its not inter-galactic.
What I think the text is trying to say that they were fighting at sub-light speed and used Otherworld gates to move to different world orbiting different stars and while fighting at sub-light speed they destroyed nations on those world.

The distance to the enemy is so short that it would normally be impossible to reach top speed. However, Swimu is different. It reaches sub-light speed from the start, trampling and overrunning any enemy it comes into contact with. It's the same this time. Like countless interstellar nations, this planet was bound to transform into a land of death."
