Is Kirby's star rod Limitless in power?

Its powered by dreams. This rases the question, is it powered by the dreams them selves or the act of dreaming? If it is powered by dreams them selves that would imply that he has a limited number of them. Granted that number would still be high. On the other hand if its powered by the act of dreaming then as long as there is at least 1 person dreaming in his universe the star rod work fine.
