ippo travel speed

in episode 47 of hajime no ippo, Ippo runs 8 sets of 800 meter dashes in about 3 minutes. assuming that it was exactly 3 minutes which should be right given it was probably a second or two off then we can see that ippo ran 6400 meters in 180 seconds given 8 x 800= 6400 and 60 x 3 =180.

now we divide 6400 by 180 and we get 35.56 (rounded to the hundreth) meters per second making Ippo's travel speed subsonic or around mach 0.1 which if we are talking miles per hour means he can run at about 76.7 mph. should we add this in since his profile says subsonic speed but seems to refer to combat speed?

unless it was 3 min per set of 800 meters. I'm not sure which, it seemed to be said later that the lesser feat was true but earlier it seemed like the greater feat was true so we need to clear this up

It looks like the math is correct for the most part, which results in 35.56m/s. However, we do have Subsonic speed for Ippo in his profile, although the reasoning seems dubious.

I want to see which point in time in the vid shows Ippo doing the laps though. That would help.

Now, can this speed be used to find the KE of Ippo's punches since he should be able to punch at this speed, if not faster?

Yes, Lina Ippo should logically fight faster than he runs.

I'm really sure that Ippo has better feat for the KE of his punches instead of just saying that "should be faster than his running speed"

It seems reasonable to change Ippo's speed description to "Subsonic combat and travel speed".

Seems okay enough. It's just high above the baseline for Subsonic so i say it's good for Subsonic combat and travel speed.
