Invincible Season 4 General Discussion Thread

If star level whatever sticks, imma scream.

I'm making God real so I can pray that nothing can even be calced close to this. That or for everyone to decide that the explosion originating from the center of the sun disk was separate from the twin torpedo yield (probably still impressive). Or Kirkman finds out that "we" think this thing was supposed to be THAT powerful and chuckles into his pile of money.
You guys are concerningly obsessed over DB

Also the mental gymnastics people do to "debunk" the solar disk's destruction scaling to anything since then are not a good look, especially now the "chain reaction" thing
There is no stored potential energy in the disk that could cause it to violently explode like that so it can't be a chain reaction. The disk isn't a star that will collapse and violently explode if the core stops producing energy.

And the rematch. Conquest basically gave Mark the win. Had he pulled a lethal move when Mark had started choking him out, he would have won. But he played around.
You're not exactly going to think straight with something clamping down on your brain's supply of blood.

After Episode 5, should Conquest's match against Nolan be removed? We finally saw them fighting and interacting in the series. In the comics, Nolan tackles Conquest from behind before the latter grabs Nolan and breaks his nose with a headbutt, before Mark intervenes. However, in the show, Nolan sends Conquest flying with a punch, and they end up fighting toe-to-toe and matching each other's strength. This suggests they're more even in the show than in the comics; in the latter, Nolan was initially scared of facing Conquest when he first saw him, but in the show, he doesn't have that wariness.

Already called for it

Though I don't really agree with that reasoning, it's like saying Mark and Conquest are about even because they clashed a couple times here, also the one hit Conquest lands on Nolan before Mark intervenes got him flinching in pain. He simply doesn't take his fights seriously

Tbf you still have this statement from S3E8
He's a Viltrumite, Eve. The strongest one we've seen yet. Our guys think he would even take Nolan down.
But if Conquest is stronger than Nolan, it's not by much in either canon. Even then, Viltrumites get stronger after recovery, so this is S1 Nolan rather than S3 Nolan.

How strong then?only a 50% stronger?
Conquest vs Nolan (or at least S3 Conquest vs S1 Nolan) is probably an extreme diff for Conquest. Like he wins but he's in the same condition Lucien or Mark was after their respective winning fights.

Mark is stronger right?

Hmm, I'm starting to think up anti- EOS Robot stuff. That clanker has had to coming for months.

Part of the debate on the outcome of Conquest vs. Nolan based on the little of it we see onscreen probably comes down to how much damage Conquest's hand chop attack would've done if Mark didn't step in. Nolan seemed disoriented from the headbutt and didn't seem like he was going to be able to do much more than brace himself the chop attack.

Nolan already described Mark as being almost as strong as him at a point where he hadn't seen Mark since the Thraxa fight, so current Mark should have caught up to Nolan by now after all the training and fighting he went through after Thraxa.

They're on par ever since S3
I heavily doubt that. Every time we see Conquest actually fight back against Mark, he gets destroyed. Mark could not even destroy his weaker robotic arm without breaking his own hand in the process, Mark in Season 3 is ridiculously weaker than Conquest. In Season 4 they are more relative, but Conquest is still stronger by a landslide. Even while holding back and allowing Mark to merk him, he still did not care. He kept playing around with Mark until he got serious near the end, split a hole in his stomach and unwrapped his gifts. You cannot really prove relativity beyond LS, Mark's sheer willpower and his hatred for Conquest.

I meant on par with Nolan :v

I can remove it

I don't think that's the best example. Conquest was admittedly playing around for most of that fight and Mark was still attempting a no-kill pacifist run (Even though he technically killed King Immortal). Only after did he ''kill'' Eve did Mark start fighting seriously, and after shattering Conquest's prosthetic arm, that's when Conquest basically went ''Oh shit, I have to lock in.''

Nolan did state to Allen in Episode 2 that Mark is almost as strong as him, though the credibility of his statement is questionable considering a lot of time had passed since Thraxa and Mark did go through extensive training where he reportedly surpassed Anissa. Not to mention Mark performed better against Lucan in Season 4 then he did on Thraxa.

But anyway back to the discussion. Nolan was able to match Conquest in a test of strength. I don't think that's something to brush aside considering it was something Mark was unable to do at the start of their first fight, depite being pissed. He also couldn't even budge Conquest, despite the latter still playing around.

Mark was going for the kill the moment Conquest hurt Eve, and even then moment he let his guard down he got overpowered with literally one arm and couldn't do anthing but listen to Conquest trauma dump. Either way, my main point is that yes, they collided and seemed even, but due to the quirks of his character is hard to say he was going all out

Someone also added the Omni-Man vs Heatblast out of nowhere thinking it's TV .-.

Thadeus showing why he is the OG. 1 kill, and put belt to ass on Kregg and Anissa.
also he did the punch on the ground move I think most famously Nolan is known for doing in the s1 finale. that goes back to pre-Argall era lmaooo

Oliver is still into lobsters, and they even made a point about him not really connecting with other humans because he ages too fast, to me that means that Oliver x Zoe wouldn't happen at all

I still hope he doesn't try to genocide everyone with the scourge virus.

They were teaching that shit in Viltrumite school lmaoo[I/SPOILER]

Everyone is WAY more on par and less of a unique force compared to the rest of the universe. Bugs be bugging everywhere.

Considering we also have the Texas Asteroid Feat and we're getting the destruction of Viltrum and Thragg threatening that the Viltrumites will tear Earth in half this season so the ship will probably be the outlier
I mean, what we ultimately have is every one screen feat being orders of magnitude lower than statements. Ultimately showings go over statements if they have that much of a contradiction. But we can wait till the season's over.

omniman having planetary LS is almost certainly an outlier now with them struggling with that ship

I mean, is the feat even above Class G ? If not then we may as well downgrade everyone's LS all the way back to Season 1

Will you change any of Tech Jacket's throw calculation based on this ? 🤔

There's nothing to change. I didn't calculate the yield as if it were a shockwave. I basically did calculate it as an impact mark, by finding the energy of the displaced solar material. If my method isn't valid either then I don't have any idea how to calculate the feat at all besides just the potential energy of the ship which would give a laughably low result.
Does the ship feat even stack up to Season 1 Mark stopping an Asteroid? The cast struggling with that is probably an outlier.
Based on the currently accepted calculation for the comics version of this feat, not being able to lift half of the ship without help would make everyone who participated barely Class G, significantly below Season 1 Mark stopping an Asteroid. And it took a decent amount of time for them to accelerate the halves of the ship so they reach escape velocity unlike the comic so that part of the calculation would be far lower than Class P. I think it's an outlier for sure.
