inFAMOUS Speed Revision

Well the subsonic+ comes from the fact that the missule in the wiki moves at Mach 0.71, which is subsonic+ on this wiki

At least supersonic seems good

I also think that this seems reasonable.

@PTSOXMONKEY99: Reviewing this.

Cole MacGrath

  • Based on this image wherehe manages to jump away from a cruise missile, Cole actually manages to throw a monster aside, and manage to dodge said incoming missile's approach. While the distance between the missile and Cole in the panel below cannot be measured...
  • we know that the missile would have continued to move during the events of that panel, and would have continued to approach closer. But the fact that Cole managed to do a couple of actions while said missile moving closer towards him would justify his speed rating.
  • Cole having Supersonic speeds while using Induction Grind is good to go, based on your reasoning.
Kessler

  • How big was the Empire City crater? Is there a picture of this crater so I can scale its size?
  • Dodging Cole's lightning bolts seems to be good, although speed of lightning bolts [non-cloud to ground] tend to vary.
  • Movement Speed: Supersonic is acceptable.
David Warner

Everything else is acceptable.

One last thing that needs to be added here is that in this sca, we only see Sasha dodging said incoming bullets, but not necessarily outrunning said bullet here (The scan here seems ambiguous on whether Sasha outran the bullet or not).

  • Movement Speed: Subsonic+ is acceptable.

Cole MacGrath

Alright

Kessler

Here's a post from Calculation Evaluation thread that I made about the crater:

"Also, got another inFAMOUS feat:

The Ray Sphere causes 5-6 city blocks to be vaporized

Here's a video. You can see the blast radius at 00:23. You can see the crater at 00:51.

You can also see the crater here

Another view of the crater

You can see them fighting in the crater in this video

The 5-6 city blocks comes from this audio recording at 3:50

Also comes from here at 00:45

The vaporization comes from the fact that the ground was heated to the point where it melted and you could see steam/smoke in the area.

Please and thank you."

Well Cole does have the ability to absorb just about any type of electricity, from the kind you find in normal everyday appliances (TV's, cars, street lights, etc), to the kind you find in human bodies (neuro-electricity, bio-electricity) and can manipulate natural lighting as well (Can call down lighting on targets, can call down lighting on himself to absorb and shoot out, his main attack on inFAMOUS 1 is called Lighting Bolt, several of his attacks are described as using lighting). He usually absorbs said energy to later shoot out of his body. I posted a call request for Kessler's movement speed awhile ago.

David Warner

He's the purple arcs of electricity in the background and in the water. The fact that it get's "bigger" is meant so show that he is gaining on Cole

Sasha

Alright

If Cole is able to absorb natural lightning, and manually fire said natural lightning in return, this would be Massively Hypersonic+ attack speed. As for who scales to this, I am unsure.

The links to the crater feat will be checked out. A calculation will be posted here on this thread, as well as a blog post if required.

Did Kessler dodge Cole's lightning bolt right after Cole absorbed said lightning directly from the sky?

If not, the speed of electricity may not always be equal to the speed of actual lightning.

No, but as aforementioned, his attacks are dubbed Lightning Bolt, and Cole showed no issue with manipulating lighting storms.

And in inFAMOUS 2, Cole shows that he can drain a naturally occurring thunderstorm of lightning, by calling a bolt down upon himself, and then fire off bolts. Cole was weakened by the Beast at the time, and was working to regain the power he had lost and get stronger than before.

@Lina

A plethora of Cole's abilities are literally lightning being tossed around. In game description also describes his first lightning bolts as like that. And Kessler is basically a stronger version of him. So there's really no reason for them to not be wielding lightning fast lightning.

I have asked WeeklyBattles about the speed issues regarding lightning/electricity. However, from what can be read on PTSOX's post, it seems that Cole was able to drain a lightning bolt from the sky, and fired off said bolts.

If Cole's lightning bolts are indeed MHS+, I am guessing this would be an upgrade in speed for almost all of the characters here...

WeeklyBattles still has not replied to my question regarding the Speed of Electricity issue.

However, if the value of the speed of electricity is the same as the speed of lightning, then everyone who dodged Cole's lightning can have a speed rating of...

  • Massively Hypersonic reactions (Able to react to Cole's lightning, which comes directly from actual lightning)

So this would change combat/reaction speed for basically Kessler, Cole, John, and David. Ok

But what about movement speed? There are a few speed calcs in the waiting, like Cole outrunning the Ray Sphere explosion, Kessler dodging moving out of the way of lighting (which I put in like a year ago), but are my current stats ok?

Also, what about attack speed? I thought we used MHS+ for natural lighting attacks?

If Cole's lightning attack comes from natural lightning, the Massively Hypersonic+ speed is justified.

However, I am not certain about this issue. The speed of electricity topic was supposed to be concluded, but it never went anywhere.

Thus, you may apply the stat changes that you and I proposed to the relevant character profiles.

However, keep the Massively Hypersonic reactions rating on the down low for now.

Yeah, I think most the movement speed changes seem reasonable. I feel like moving around a crater of that size would yield higher than Supersonic but I can't seem to find a good timeframe for it.

A city block is typically 100,000 sq ft, which is 9,290.304 m^2. Times that by five.

9,290.304 * 5 = 46,451.52 m^2

r = ÔêÜ(a / ¤Ç)

r = Radius

a = Area

46,451.52 / ¤Ç = 14,785.9780443

Square root of 14785.9780443 = 121.597

C = 2¤Çr

2 * ¤Ç * 121.597 = 764 Meters. That is the circumference of the crater. (I did this in a very roundabout manner, probably).

Im not sure why people keep coming to me about the speed of electricity, I just made the thread asking about it and im still not sure how we treat it...

Since the speed of electricity issue has not been concluded, it would be appreciated on PTSOX's part to post a video of Cole absorbing cloud-to-ground lightning from the sky, as well as a video of said characters dodging said lightning.

This is because Massively Hypersonic reaction speed can be justified if that is the case.

Well, the electricity issue is important, but I do not think that it is practically feasible to reevaluate all such character feats within this wiki, especially without DontTalk, The Living Tribunal1, and LordXcano to help us reach a conclusion.

As such, it is probably best to use lightning speed for the time being, but if Lina or WeeklyBattles want to create a highlighted thread, I won't stop them.
