I need help with rendering this picture. Due to the lack of Photoshop (im a free trial scrub) I am stuck to using paint.net and it's hard to remove the background around the hair and chains. Help would be appreciated.

Could someone remove the white from these two images? I'm working to remove the low quality images on the Gunvolt pages and repace them with high quality ones. The Gunvolt Wiki has most of what I'm after, but the only high quality versions of these images are Jpegs. While there are Pngs, they are of low quality.
