IDW Soundwave vs 616 Iron Man (0-7-0) CONCLUDED

In the 2005 IDW timeline, the Avengers of that universe were slaughtered at New York during the events of All Hail Megatron, where Megatron led an all out attack on Earth with the absence of the Autobots to protect it. But what if things went differently? What if the Iron Man of the IDW universe was replaced with the 616 Iron Man? Megatron sends Soundwave to fight against Iron Man.

Looking over everything in the profiles, I think Iron Man should take this, though it would take some effort on his part. He has the advantage in intelligence (Extraordinary Genius vs Genius), weaponry range (tens of kilometers to planetary vs. several hundred meters), and Regeneration (Mid-Low vs. Low). He also has more resistances, including resistances to Telepathy, Mind Manipulation, and Hacking, which should prevent Soundwave from playing to his larger potential strengths. Iron Man seems to be more versatile, with a wide variety of abilities, only a few of which Soundwave has listed resistances to. Three out of five of Soundwave's cassettes don't seem to be able to fly, so they should be quickly outranged by Iron Man. In a more enclosed area, Iron Man might get overwhelmed too quickly, but under these circumstances, he should have enough advantages to outlast Soundwave and his cassettes.

I'm curious as to what this "All Hail Megatron" event is, with the autobots not on earth and some avenger-like team being massacred.

Basically, prior before Ahh Hail Megatron. IDW and Marvel had an Avengers and transformers crossover event and it was terrible.

In All Hail Megatron, it basically revolves a traitor among the Autobots who gave critical information to the Decepticons, which resulted in the Decepticons launching all out attacks on every Autobot base in the galaxy. A nearly dead Optimus and his team of Autobots were stuck and stranded on a dead Cybertron. While Megatron and the Decepticons started to attack Earth's cities to instill terror that they are the supposed "victors" of the war.

When asked why the Avengers didn't appear during the onslaught, one of the writers said that the Avengers were killed during the Decepticons invasion, presumably when New York was attacked off-panel. Though in reality everyone forgot that the crossover existed cause it sucked

So, Tony will fight at the beginning by simply blasting repulsors (Which can negate durability, but in a specific way), and maybe, forcefields, fly and evade attacks while analysing Soundwaves abilities.

Once analyzed, he can:

1. Counter his energy attacks by either absorbing them, block them using forcefields, maybe negate them using Zero-Point Energy etc.
2. He already resists strong mindhax, but he can also straight up nullify it via Telepathic Inhibitor, should Soundwave get really pushy about it.
3. He can mess up with his and his pet's bodies through the use magnetism, electricity and energy.
4. Counter attack his hacking assaults by hacking back, maybe even take over him and the others if his resistaces feats don't reach up to Iron Man's hickajing.
5. Summon others armors to multiply his numbers against Soundwaves small group.
6. Etc
