Thank you greatly.I think it should be added to the Calculations page with the following:
Bro came back from the deadI did receive permission to chat for a few messages. Currently, the converter tool only accepts numbers in standard form. Is it possible for it to be modified to accept exponential form?
Correct, it's removed now.I will say, if we claim "This tool follows the same calculation standards adopted by the wiki" then it shouldn't have a tab for calculating velocity from KE, as our rules don't allow for that.
Yes.Does the relativistic KE calculator include our 4x limit rule?
Added. One could consider using the better PE formula, but it's in principle fine.
Why should the Preliminary Reference Earth Model work for anything other than Earth? It was added because using the regular GBE formula gives a Low 5-B value rather than our 5-B baseline. And I had people questioning the accuracy of the tool before because of this. How does the PREM model work for non-Earth parameters?
Nice, thanks!Added.
Ah, so if you enter anything except precise Earth parameters, it just doesn't use it? Since one can select the model and then enter different values I figured there was some generalized idea here. Why should the Preliminary Reference Earth Model work for anything other than Earth? Actually it seems to use uniform density model regardless. PREM there is just for informing why our Earth GBE value is different, it doesn't calculate anything.Ah, so if you enter anything except precise Earth parameters, it just doesn't use it? Yeah, it only works with Earth because it’s an Earth model. It doesn’t calc anything other than Earth’s GBE. It’s minor, I know, but I wanted no confusion.Ah, so if you enter anything except precise Earth parameters, it just doesn't use it? I can add it to the tool, just need the formula. Anything with a formula can be added to the tool.I will note that for meteor impacts the existing calculator does a better job, as it considers energy lost due to air resistance during atmospheric entries.
Yes, PREM only works with Earth and is there to show the accurate value for Earth’s GBE that we use. Since it’s an Earth model it only works with Earth, obviously.Actually it seems to use uniform density model regardless. PREM there is just for informing why our Earth GBE value is different, it doesn't calculate anything.
@DontTalkDTSince everything has been adjusted accordingly and accepted, I believe we can apply the new text to the Calculations page and create a thread dedicated to the tool. And obviously close this one.
There is this issue as well.I can add it to the tool, just need the formula. Anything with a formula can be added to the tool.
Wouldn't really call it an issue, we just need to be given the formula that calculator is based off of so we can implement it here. There is this issue as well.![]()
Yes, you can paste the work into a blogI have a question - could my calcs get evaluated if I use this app?
I don't think the tool was made with mobile px scaling in mind tbh, if possible use a laptop or pcI would like to note that Image Scaling doesn’t work on mobile
Yeah I assumed, just wanted to make a note of itI don't think the tool was made with mobile px scaling in mind tbh, if possible use a laptop or pc
