I do stupid things: Batman vs Culexus

Oh, ok. Well, Im leaning towards Batman atm because he seems to have a better suit and equipments, but not sure about skills tho

Not voting now, I'll wait for more input since I dont know much about CA

He probably won't resist this soul stuff, in all honesty. Stats reduction is only sorta an issue with him (everyone is affected negatively to some degree).

Mindhax scales to the user, basically. One ****** Ahzek Ahrima over by being too close to his astral projection, but its not like that happened to everyone. As for effects on normal, non psykers:

The helm is only partially effective at muffling the Assassin's null-presence, even when operating at full power; most people can barely stand to be in the same room as the wearer due to the nauseous, head-spinning effect that is the trademark of a Culexus Assassin's presence. When it is switched off altogether, the mayhem that ensues is terrifying to behold. Victims in close proximity may flee in wild-eyed terror, or freeze in place, hyperventilating and shaking uncontrollably. Others collapse, clutching their heads as bloody froth oozes from tearducts and gaping mouths.

Resisting the Speculum is gonna be a lot worse than just this, this is what happens as a consequence of their existence.

Batman has pretty solid mind resistance, iirc it scales above Superman

Don't know about souls stuff tho.

They also cause legitimate pain to daemons and stuff. Their mind thing comes from the same null presence that gives them their nullification, and they did cut nids off from their hive mind before. Batman isn't spiritually powerful though and trained very well for this sort of thing so I wouldn't anticipate this being anything more than slight disorientation. Psyk-outs are literally made from the Emperor's dandruff so they might do something though.

The invisibility and intangibility stuff may be an issue though.

Invis:

Perhaps most
unsettling of all, the Etherium also renders the Culexus Assassin nearly impossible to detect, whether by conventional senses or via complex mechanical sensors. For this reason, the advance of the Culexus is more of a relentless prowl than a headlong rush, as the Assassin stalks towards the target with the inevitability of death itself. A Culexus can stand in the very same room as his target yet remain hidden, his victims feeling only a mounting sense of unease, and glimpsing nothing but phantoms haunting their peripheral vision.

The Culexus Assassin Dranos is sent to destroy the Sorcerer Xantaka before he can conjure any more daemonic legions from the Warp. Being all but invisible to not only the aethersight of Xantaka's Daemon armies but also his Rubricae bodyguard, Dranos simply walks up to the Sorcerer Xantaka and burns his brains to ash with a blast of negative energy.

Intangibility:

Whilst closing with his mark, the Culexus operates under the protective field of his Etherium ― a highly advanced form of Aegis Suit that is built into the Culexus Assassin's synskin. This, combined with the wearer's innate and disturbing qualities, makes him all but impervious to psychic attack. Weapons that are in any way connected to non-material dimensions simply pass through him as if he were no more than a ghost.

Etherium: The Etherium is a highly advanced nodal layer built into the Culexus' synskin that shifts the wearer's body out of phase with realspace. This makes his physical form ghost-like and absent from the physical world, all but invisible to mortal eyes, just as his mind is absent from the spiritual plane.

Okay. I assume their invisibility makes them immune to being smelled or anything of the sort?

I mean I would think so, since the human brain just inherently does not want to process a blank so they're overlooked really easy. This aids in their invis. I don't see why this wouldn't extend to the other senses as well, especially when they exist out of sync with reality.

An example:

They sensed her without sensing her, the ominous, ever-present shadow of null she cast falling on them. Children, when she turned her hard, glittering gaze in their direction, would begin to cry and not know the reason. When she passed close to tents full of sleeping figures, she could hear them mutter and moan under their breath; she passed over their dreams like a windborne storm cloud, darkening the skies of their subconscious for a moment before sliding beyond the horizon. Iota's pariah soul ― or lack thereof ― made people turn away from her, made them avert their eyes from the shadowed corners where she moved. It was a boon for her stealth, and with it she entered the sanctuary encampment without raising an alarm.

Batman is trained specifically to sense things that slip out of normal people's minds and has a instinctive ability to predict attacks due to his sixth sense, so it might cancel out. Especially in addition to all his gear he has to enhance his sense further.

6th sense type stuff is very nullified, and they already mess with machines. The Rubricae bodyguard with the chaos sorcerer linked in the above quote aren't really gonna be affected by any of the CA's other powers. They're effectively automatons, souls of what once was men trapped in coffins of dust that can do little more than kill and obey the will of some controlling Psyker. Blame Ahriman. Still couldn't see the CA, and this was without the whole mental presence thing.

It doesn';t so much slip out of the mind as the brain refuses to process a pariah. This even causes issues for hardened soldiers and space marines, and Culexuses have spied on other assassins before while eluding detection.

Eh. Batman still has precognition even with his sixth sense off. But that also means no instinctive reaction. Batman also has resistance to perception manipulation can ignore that stuff through sheer force of will.

Also, Batman has prior knowledge here, so he'll know about the more dangerous stuff in CA's passives.
