They are outside a fast food restaurant, Baku could set up a table trap or barricade to delay the hunter. This wouldn't require alot of time, we have seen him do wayy more with way less.

Baku could hide somewhere whilst Hunter is being delayed by a trap then jump out and shot him.
Baku also has Enhanced Smell, so he would know when Hunter is coming.

Agree since hunter needs cover scent to make himself resistant to enhanced smell and given he doesn’t have it here soul’s argument makes sense

Have you seen Hunter's profile? He has equipments that makes him immune to enhanced smelling. Also have stealth mastery which could pose problem

Hunter doesn’t have cover scent here it’s: optional
Stealth mastery is kinda ruined since the dinosaurs can smell and sniff him out. Which is why you have to get the camouflage equipment to help things out
He can sneak up on them if he’s careful enough but if the wind blows his scent and if it’s in their direction it blows up his cover

OP didn't given him Cover Scent, and even if they did Baku also has another Sensory ability that allows him to detect someone's bloodlust (Which I don't think is depent on smell.)

This is a little bit of conjecture, but would Hunter even think he needs to use Cover Scent at first in character?
He isn't going in to hunt a Dinosaur, just a regular guy. I don't think he is going to come to the conclusion that this random Japanese man could smell his blood (Though I have never played Carnivores, don't know if he hunts humans aswell)
