Even if you discount him literally matching Yujiro in a contest of strength in his introduction, he'd still scale via his fight with Musashi, who he matched and overpowered at several points. So it doesn't particularly matter.

It does matter, since musashi doesn't physically scale to either yujiro, nor pickle, he's weaker than both of them.

Yujiro > Pickle > Musashi physically.

Also the series is INSANELY inconsistent in terms of feats, the town level feat is an outlier in that of itself.

Musashi was enough of a threat that Yujiro Immediately used his Demonback, yet was forced to cede ground to Musashi. Tokugawa, while watching both of them fight, stated they rivaled each other and were peerless in strength (this was before he fought Pickle). The unarmed strike he performed against Yujiro was so powerful that Motobe was unsure Yujiro could have taken it, showing that Mushashi could damage Yujiro with both his basic swords and "unarmed" strikes, and thus physically scales to his stats.

Yujiro > Pickle

Pickle already overpowered Yujiro, to the point the latter needed to use Aiki to win the "strength contest" he himself started. Pickle is at LEAST relative to base Yujiro in physical strength alone.
