How is "dodge chance" treated on the wiki?

Like in a video game, if a character has a 15% dodge chance, does this give them Probability Manipulation or just a high agility stat?

If it just gives them a high agility stat, what if this character is able to level up their dodge chance to 100% (so that they always dodge attacks). Is this interpreted as having an agility so high that it is scaled above the agility of everyone else in the verse, or NOW is it probability manipulation?

Normally dodging on RPGs are considered game mechanics unless there are a lore explanation behind that

Like a spell that increase evasion, not just "I have 60% of dodging" just because is a literal stat

I remember some agility shenanigans based on probability manipulation in somes rpg but again, it has an explanation, it can't be random

aww, that's such a sad way to treat dodge mechanics.

In the specific case I'm thinking of, The Terrarian can wear Master Ninja Gear, which according to the game: "Gives a chance to dodge attacks". But that does seem like the "just because" rule you mentioned.

Again, very unfortunate way to think about it.

Games are weird
If leveling it up to 100% is an intended feature, could scale somewhere maybe?

I have never played a game where getting 100% dodge chance wasn't intended (or at least the devs MUST have known about it). In Terraria there's an armor set that grants 100% dodge chance outright (though it goes on cooldown for 30 after each dodge). The tooltip says the armor set "protects you". There are also enemies which can bypass dodge chance.

It's a shame to consider dodge chance a game mechanic thing, because it's fun to interpret literally as an actual, automatic ability. It's even more fun to interpret it as an ability which can be bypassed (and anyways the Venuzdoza (or whatever the hell Anos' stupid sword is called) can do the same thing).

Imo in general I think powerscaling should be more open to interpreting game mechanics, and even exploits to some extent, as being an actual part of the game's world. It's way more fun and interesting that way

Personally then id scale that as > speed or ap (depending on presentation) of every enemy or whatever, but idk the exact guidelines. Im not sure where

I think it depends

Sometimes I feel game mechanics are used to heavily

I think it depends on the series

For Terraria it makes sense to use them
