Honestly speaking, I’ve never seen a series more inconsistent powerlevel-wise than Honkai. It’s genuinely one of the things I dislike the most about this game.

This reminds me, the actual gap between an Emanator and regular Pathstriders isnt really as big as the lore makes it out to be
But the fact that Sparxie's minions could pressure a TB who fought Incomplete Irontomb and Lygus, two Emanators, is so damn funny

Yeah to varying degrees. HSR is just egrigous because it’s doing the Invincible thing. The protagonist is supposed to be able to stand up to invincible cosmic threats but the writers also want them to struggle with urban threats so the story can feel engaging. Like Mark goes from fighting toe to toe with a veteran Viltrumite who can almost single handedly conquer advanced alien races to getting KO’d by Doc Seismic. Trailblazer goes from fighting island vaporising ‘world destroying’ Nikador to strugging with highschoolers.

all the feat we have is pure agenda anyway so just nuke the verse
really tho the problem is that the game put TB against all kind of OP character in the game every single time thus it became a problem narrative wise since if power scaling is consistence then there is like 0% problem that they can create that isn't world destroyer kind of character

Hot take but I actually believe that it’s a writing flaw not being able to create consistent narratives (like powerlevels) in your own story. I realize that HSR is a gacha so there’s limitations but it doesn’t mean the problem suddenly no longer exists

Thats fair honestly i think most of it stems from them introducing AEON LEVEL THREATS so early in the story. Like how did we go from reviving the entire universe to extreme diffing highschoolers and pokimane

Yeah they escalated way too fast so now everything is weird. On one hand Emanators are treated as super dangerous and powerful relative to everyone else but then like 5 people can get together and beat their asses (let it be known that Aventurine with a fragment of a cornerstone was doing about as well as Emanator Sunday did against the AE).
If TB and the crew were treated as OP characters then power levels would make more sense but it’d be more boring since only cosmic threats could do anything to them. There’s effectively 2 versions of every character. Version one are basically street level dudes who are threatened by normal humans and everyday occurences and version two are dbz characters.

TB also just in general doesn’t do much. Did you know we never saw TB use a path ability in a cutscene till Amphoreus? We don’t know TB’s destruction ability, we’ve never seen them do anything with Harmony in cutscenes and based on how Planarcadia went I’m wondering if they still have Remembrance.

Like I remember how relatively grounded things felt in the Jarilo arc, where you are simply dealing with a local threat.
Now? We gotta stop a birb from becoming a god, stop a rip-off Ultron from nuking the universe, and play a game to become a god
Back to back. These arcs work if they are spread out evenly with more grounded stories in between, but forcing us to deal with literally cosmic crises repeatedly has certainly gotten stale.

I still find it crazy how we already had an Aeon-level event in 2.X like wtf? Sunday was 99% an Aeon and we’re literally just acting like nothing much happened

We were empowered by Robin against Dominicus. If you referring to the original fight as well then he was also weakened by Disharmony. Emanator Acheron one shotted Full Power Aventurine. No.

Us in a year when every character is High 3-A, base humans and Aeons scale the same, the strongest hax we got is IM2, half the scans are mistranslated, imgur is still broken and Evanescia takes 8 cycles to clear MOC:
