There's nothing to elaborate. Her starting move is literally just kill you if you try to role up on her. Especially if you aren't a Gift User who she can exploit by stealing your gift.

Fight prolly starts with Axiom getting close to attack and Ihwa spawns a giant sword out her belly-button and skewers him the moment he gets close.

Well starting distance is 3 meters, so Axiom won't have much distance to close. Depends on how fast she whips it out before Axiom lands any offense.

Him landing offense is what she wants. She purposely lures enemies into hitting her so she can immediately counter at optimum range.

I mean, good luck at trying to counter someone who's an expert at quickly analyzing and reacting to attacks.

She can literally spawn blades out of her body. If he touches her, he gets stabbed.

In fact, his Analytical Prediction seems to be most effective against submission skills, not getting punched or kicked at close range.

Endearing that you call yourself a goon though, selfawareness is a virtue
I've been a goon since the day I was born. When I was having my diapers changed, I gooned. When I was in elementary, I gooned. I gooned on the basketball team in middle school. In highschool, I gooned my way through my finals every year. I gooned my way through the SAT to get into uni.

And now, I goon here. I am the primordial goon, the goon to end all goons.

I am the Eternal Goon.

Can you show me scans of how it works?
It's on the profile.

Countering a punch or kick, at least to my knowledge, is a lot less complicated than countering submissions.
A couple things wrong with this. First off, he was not literally connected to his opponent at the time they attacked him. Ihwa luring him into an attack means they are face-to-face, he's inches away from her, and he doesn't have the necessary distance or mobility to make distance before he gets attacked.

Second off, he did not "counter" the punch. He used the momentum from being thrown into the ropes to bounce back and duck under an attack that was obviously coming. You or I could also do this given the environment.

Third off, countering a submission isn't inherently more complex than dodging a punch from a skilled fighter. They both require relative amounts of combat skill. This is where the weird idea of striking martial arts being inherently inferior to submission skills comes from, and it is frankly idiotic, if you have ever seen say, a Boxing match, where mobility and footwork is emphasized heavily.

Ihwa's the ultimate edgelord. Jesus Christ some of those lines are not it.

Thing is that we both wouldn't know what attack our opponent was going to throw next since our back is turned to them. Axiom did use the momentum of being bounced off the ropes, but his back was completely turned to his opponent, so Axiom just outright predicted what move his opponent was going to do next.

Problem is with submissions is that most of your body can be controlled by your opponent. Examples like this where you have to put all of your strength in a specific body part to escape torture holds takes a lot of skill to do so, compared to a boxing match, where the fighters tend to move a lot more freely. Not trying to say dodging a punch from a skilled fighter takes no skill, it's just that countering submission holds means you need to rely on body parts you'll most likely never use in a boxing match. At least, not as frequently if you were to be put in a submission.

Though determining which is more complicated to counter between a submission from a skilled fighter and a dodging a punch from a skilled fighter will almost always be complicated, especially since not all submission maneuvers work the same, and they all have varying degrees of how difficult said submission hold is to escape and/or counter.

Which is why I love her.

That specific feat isn't something that requires prediction on a particularly advanced level, is my point. You could do it as an IRL Human and it wouldn't be anything hyper impressive that will allow you to negate ALL attacks. Just because he can dodge attacks from behind doesn't mean he can dodge attacks while literally connected with his opponent.

Does this make sense?
compared to a boxing match, where the fighters tend to move a lot more freely.
That is my point. Fighting an opponent who has freedom can be a much more difficult endeavor in comparison to a wrestler with limited skills in such an area. Martial Arts is not a linear concept, and no one form of combat is above the other inherently. Which, is what you claimed:

Exactly my point. Hence why it is disingenuous to postulate that "countering submissions > countering striking" in a combat setting. It's not so simple.

Though this situation is different from a kick, punch, or submission.

Axiom has no clue that Ihwa can just spawn swords out of her body when he approaches her, and he could get fatally stabbed if he doesn't react in time.

Isn't that a instant win for Ihwa then, assuming this is what she opens with?

She doesn't open with Graymam's Gift Not immediately, at least. But her go-to move is to kill her opponent as quickly and efficiently as possible, assuming she can, and assuming she doesn't want to milk them for her own growth.

If the Axiom proves to difficult to defeat with pure physical skills, she will resort to Gifts, which can, and has in canon, included Grayman's Gift.

The only reason she wouldn't IMMEDIATELY start using Gifts is because the Axiom himself is not a Gift User. She will test the waters with martial arts, and if she needs to, Gifts will come out.

But uhh yeah. Axiom's skill.

Gonna sound somewhat like a broken record here due to the Analytical Prediction stuff, but I'll do my best.

Thanks to his gift for mathematics, Axiom believes that anything can be broken down into a formula. He states that he can quickly analyze and react to anything. He uses his gift for mathematics, as well as his natural technical skill to quickly counter submission maneuvers, pinning positions, and grapple maneuvers. His natural athleticism, mixed in with his technical ring prowess, allows him to be creative with his submissions. He also makes his speed to good use by quickly dodging countering his opponents offense. He’s also shown to have really good timing, as he can catch with people with his offense while they're in mid-air.
This all I got for now.
