Heaven's Dogma (RP Thread)

"I'm a necromancer, fox. there isn't much to compliment in most people's eyes." Arkhan responded, her head turning for a moment before going back to Kurai, considering what she just called herself, it was no wonder she could immediately tell Kurai's armor was bone.
(Akarui is the fox tho, not Gwen)

"The God of the sun, order, kingship, power, and light, Lucian. I'm an egyptian, hence the accent. I believe in the Pantheon... because I now know at least some of them exist."
"Ohhhhh, THAT'S what you meant! Why didn't you say so? Well, regardless of any pantheon or country, any God of the sun is a God of mine!" He claimed, tapping the surprisingly well painted sun that adorned his chest plate. "Anywho, I don't believe I caught your name?"

"Arkhan. Arkhan the Black." the armoured woman said as she closed her eyes for a moment and checked what her Tomb guard was seeing from his bird's eye view, looking for structures of any kind.

"It wouldn't be for me, Kurai. But if you have limits, I won't ask you to push them." Arkhan nodded, simply accepting the answer without fuss.
"....If you're talking about me, then I'll be fine." She says, "I haven't encountered a person or daemon that can break this exoskeleton yet, and I've been wandering this desert for a while..."

(Daemon: Animals or plant life from the old world that had their shapes twisted and became feral are called Daemons.)

"No." Kurai said once again, refusing to take the map back out. "It's mine, and I need it. In case you've forgotten, I don't know you people... I wouldn't give you a flake of my cloak, let alone an entire map."
Nimah stared at the woman for a moment, a subtle motion of her wrist revealing a small dagger nestled just beneath the sleeve. It disappeared as quickly as it had appeared, a smile returning to her face.

"Ahem. Again, yer caution is...well-placed. I appreciate it! But whatever yer tryin' to find in this city won't stay 'ere forever. If you've been traveling so...so long without any sign of civilization, surely ya oughta intrust it to a more...capable, navigator."

"As for you, that isn't very diplomatic now is it? Its not like we're running out of time so what's the rush?"
"Gotta get 'ere while the pickin's good. Only a matter'a time before everything is either rusted to shit or taken." She said dryly.

"....." Kurai flinched back ever so slightly. Clearly, that dagger had not gone unnoticed...

"I'll show you the map. Later. If you're following me like Ms. Muscles over here...."

"Arkhan. Arkhan the Black." the armoured woman said as she closed her eyes for a moment and checked what her Tomb guard was seeing from his bird's eye view, looking for structures of any kind.
"Then it's nice to meet you, Mrs. Arkhan! I can sense that we're going to get along great!" he said, walking over and patting her on the back, painfully oblivious to what she was doing.

"Hahahaha! My apologies, fair lady! It's just...well, been a while since I've seen anything that isn't this damned desert." He explained, trying to lower his volume a bit for her, continuing, "It brings me great joy to meet fellow Dogma users as myself! My name is Lucian, a follower of the Fallen Sun, and bearer of her light!"
Gwen sighed at this and utter anything else. Clearly, the way the loudness and the way he presents is extremely off-putting, even for her. And while the conversation about the map is happening, she can't help but just shy away from everyone else, except Nimah.

The friendliest oughta be the nicest one to stay with, no?

"....." Kurai flinched back ever so slightly. Clearly, that dagger had not gone unnoticed...

"I'll show you the map. Later. If you're following me like Ms. Muscles over here...."
"I'll follow you." The fox voiced out their concern, having been behind Kurai during their conversation, albeit far enough to be away from arm's reach. "I've had a little glimpse of the map and I'm placing my trust on you."

"Then it's good for us to be on the side, eh?" Arkhan said, mentally recalling her guard and griffin, but not at all saying what she actually meant
"....." Kurai flinched back ever so slightly. Clearly, that dagger had not gone unnoticed...

"I'll show you the map. Later. If you're following me like Ms. Muscles over here...."
"Also how did you know? Is that an ability of yours?" Arkhan asked, seemingly surprised
"Then it's nice to meet you, Mrs. Arkhan! I can sense that we're going to get along great!" he said, walking over and patting her on the back, painfully oblivious to what she was doing.
Just as Lucian reached out, he had a sword between him and Arkhan courtesy of one of the Tomb Guard "Honestly, if I wanted to be touched, I wouldn't have an escort. We aren't even friends yet, and desperation makes people take advantage of eachother, so I don't 100% trust you, either." Arkhan gently warned, turning her head to Lucian for a moment

"Also how did you know? Is that an ability of yours?" Arkhan asked, seemingly surprised
"...." Kurai was silent at that, and it was clear that she was attempting to avoid conflict by not bringing up Nimah's partial attempt at drawing a blade.

Arkhan... sighed, and her skeletal griffin moved defensively between Kurai and Nimah with one of the Tomb Guard still on it "And this is case and point to my distrust of Lucian. Stop, Nimah. I'm serious." Arkhan actually moved herself as well, shifting into a defensive position just behind Kurai, making sure her free hand was where the seemingly nervous woman could see it

"Look—drop it. I didn't bring it up for a reason...." Kurai groaned beneath her exoskeleton, "This is why I can't stand people who are all brawn..."

"I have a feeling we're going to be around eachother for awhile at least... if a conflict now stops it later, that's what I'm going to do."

"I'll show you the map. Later. If you're following me like Ms. Muscles over here...."
Nimah's eyes met the hollow sockets of the woman's armor, her smile growing.

"I knew you'd make the right choice, miss. Promise ya, ya won't regret it, I can read a map like that back'a my hand." The woman said. Gingerly, she moved towards Gwen, putting her hand on the woman's shoulder again.

"And of course, my new pal Gwenny is joinin' up as well, yeah? Friend's oughta help each other out..." She trailed off, giving the girl a small wink.

"Ya mind? Me n' Skelly over 'ere have just come to'a...diplomatic agreement."

"Look—drop it. I didn't bring it up for a reason...." Kurai groaned beneath her exoskeleton, "This is why I can't stand people who are all brawn..."
"If we'll be allies, temporary or otherwise, then cease of conflict is paramount...." Akarui replied back, "Irregardless, we are wasting some time being here in the middle of nowhere...."

Gwen just muttered sweet nothings to herself until she spoke, "Hey, uhhh, I'll join you guys... Following the skeleton girl, Kurai.... if I remember her name right...."

"Am I a babysitter or something, now?" Kurai whispers to herself, before sighing.

"If you're all going to follow me like gnats, then the only condition I put forward is that you tell me what your Dogma's are. I know you all have one, and I don't want someone dropping a fireball on me when my back is turned...."

"Ya mind? Me n' Skelly over 'ere have just come to'a...diplomatic agreement."
"Would you mind not threatening someone I wish to even slightly trust to call ally? Allow me to make something clear, scavenger of the long sands: if you don't want conflict with me and the multiple thousands of bodies I can summon to throw at my problems, you won't try this."

"As I already said, I'm a necromancer... and my Dogma is Anubis. Is there a problem with me raising the dead to fight for us?" Arkhan asked, taking a step back from Kurai to give her some space, but still keeping her hand in the girl's line of sight.

"Umm, wouldn't it be also cool if we got to know your Dogma as well?" Gwen raised her hand from the corner, "Also, it'll be really nice if you don't stab us in the back too...."

Akarui remained silent, thinking.

Nimah glanced at the woman, throwing together her best 'I'm scared' face, her body recoiling in almost practiced fear.

"Alright miss I hear ya, I hear ya. Yer very intimidatin' n' all that." She said.

"Ain't nothing special, especially compared to Miss Death over 'ere." She jabbed a thumb over at the necromancer, shrugging slightly.

"I got one of 'em body types. Can loosen my bones to fit in tight places." She demonstrated this, her body seeming to deflate and loosen as her joints parted from their sockets, collapsing into a mess of twitching limbs onto the sand below.

"Pretty nifty yeah? Hurts like hell."

"....Bone Manipulation.." Kurai said bluntly, her skull-head beginning to break into segments that gradually dissipated into the air. Her pale, ghastly features were revealed from underneath, a set of dark red eyes illuminating under the crimson light of the False Sun. She seemed less like a human being, and more like a ghoul than anything, the only thing that wasn't eerie being her hazel-black hair, and yet even that seemed unnatural.

"I can control my skeletal system. That's it."

"...No. There's no problem. Just keep them away from me."

Kurai's bloody gaze narrowed, as if she could see vividly see Nimah's bones moving under her skin. She knew something was up.

"...At least it's not anything offensive," she murmured, shrugging.

"Uhhh, mine's hard to explain..." Gwen scratched her head, "But it's something to do with strings and threads...."

Akarui draws her Katana and simply said, "I'm just a skilled swordsman. My Dogma enhances that..." as with their sheathing of the blade, the sand from meters behind them leave a deep and cratered slash without even them appearing to move. "As you can see..."

"Woah...." Gwen would applaud, but glance over at Nimah's demo with a resounding sigh, "That... really really hurts... I... ouchhh...."

With a series of creaks and cracks, Nimah's body slowly put itself back together, her limbs twitching and convulsing before popping into their proper place.

"Ya get used to it. Squeezed my entire body into'a vase once, should'a seen their faces when I popped out." The woman said casually, flashing a lazy grin.

"Well, I bet they were... p-pretty scared..." the purple-haired gal replied, nervously giggling under that macabre comment. "Hehe.... you could, ummm, work like a magician, y-y'know? With all those.... twisty turny stuff...."

Nimah glanced at the woman, throwing together her best 'I'm scared' face, her body recoiling in almost practiced fear.

"I know you aren't scared, you need to work on the look in your eyes and make slight adjustments to your tone... Good work though, I can see why a lot of people would be decieved by that."

"Alright, they will stay at least two extended sword lengths--" Arkhan pulled her own sword swirling with dark energy and shifted to point it at thin air with her arm outstretched "Away from you." she said, immediately sheathing her blade as soon as she was done demonstrating.

"By the way, I do appreciate your honesty. I will try to not lie to you." Arkhan muttered in Arabic to Kurai, partly assuming the woman could understand her native language and partially just wanting to affirm honesty out loud to keep it in mind towards the ghoulish woman.

"....مهما قلتِ، سيدتي...." Kurai mutters, also in Arabic, as her exoskeleton reforms around her head, the horned skull that she had been seen wearing returning to her.

(Translation: Whatever you say, Lady.)

"Uh-huh. Ya' sure got me good, miss. Sure let everyone know I ain't scared of ya little show o' force." The woman said dryly. She cracked her neck, gritting her teeth.

"Anyway...."

"Well, not one with the white paint and a red nose, okay? I think they're called clowns...." as if trying to imply that someone was (Arkhan) given she winked ever so subtly. "But.... you're more like a contortionist magician than anything... so stop underselling yourself!"

"......Morons."

Kurai reaches into her cloak and pulls out her map. She removes the fabric keeping it wrapped, extending the parchment and gazing at the thing through her mask. She pulls out labelless marker, marking a big black X on her current location, or at least the rough approximation of her current location.

"Should be here... yeah." She swiftly wraps the map back up and stuffs it back into her cloak. Without saying anything more or giving any notice, she turns to the left and begins walking.

Arkhan took a position an armslength to the side of Kurai, silently following her while her Tomb Guard stayed the specified distance back.

The two walked and walked far away, yet noticed that one of them were gone. Or, at least, had simply been there the entire time. Had they not speak, they could've simply acted as spectators for these two individuals.

"Really leaving them unattended?"

The lack of any notice was easy to detect under the watchful eyes of the Foxian, having seen the way she would move - even down to the muttering of words. Minus the language barrier, they followed her from a considerable distance, fixing the belt straps on their Katana as they glanced at the sun and tried seeing anything else besides the vastness of sand.

"....Honestly, I didn't actually expect you dweebs to follow me." Kurai murmurs, sighing.

"This is as good of company as any, so might as well follow someone for once." Arkhan casually said, seeming at home in the desert sands more than most

"So you got some business to where Kurai is going... as a Necromancer? Or personal reason?" they asked.

"Well, not one with the white paint and a red nose, okay? I think they're called clowns...." as if trying to imply that someone was (Arkhan) given she winked ever so subtly. "But.... you're more like a contortionist magician than anything... so stop underselling yourself!"
Nimah smirked, beginning to follow behind the others.

"Appreciate it Gwenny, but there ain't much to undersell. Don't go lookin' for gold in'a dirt pile." She said.

"....Honestly, I didn't actually expect you dweebs to follow me." Kurai murmurs, sighing.
"I'm only 'ere for the map. I'll get outta yer hair when we reach the city. Less o' course ya wanted to do some business besides that."

"...It's not like I'm going for any particular business. I just want food and a place to sleep, and maybe some extra supplies. Don't know if you noticed, but we're kind of surrounded by sand and death. I don't think anyone has any other business besides survival."
