Why is it headcanon that every time Sonic shows up to Saitama he becomes stronger than the last time? Seems pretty clear to me if he even thinks next time will be different. We know he's constantly training to beat Saitama because that's his life goal.
unquantifiable upgrade, this is not how things works.

the shurikens still scales to his base speed.

nothing implies a buff that big between those chapters, only headcannon.

Nothing really implies it isn't a big buff either. Issue is that the Sonic who scales to FF is the one shown in the last chapter, not the one shown in the Saitama vs. Tornado fight. If we know sure he's getting stronger then his past version shouldn't be backscaling to his current version at all.

But I'll wait to see how everyone sees this argument.

Following

I agree with Sonic 7-A, FTL and I think FTL for Tatsumaki's reaction might be good considering we were previously listed as the strongest in s class (not counting blast) so he should react to Flashy Flash's speed.

I might be fine with sonic scaling,
It's very reliable that Sonic actually reacts to FF's ultimate technique attack, which in that case requires a speed equivalent to the reaction.

Neutral for tatsumaki stuff

Disagree with the CRT
The exact same chapter where Sonic matches Flashy literally shows him blitzing his own shuriken with ease, and then he fights the guy that blitzed two shurikens aimed at him from both sides to the point that the tracking mechanism just doesn't follow his movements, and smacks against each other.
Also as Kin201 pointed out, Sonic likely trained and got faster and stronger which is very much possible. Sonic has displayed some great potential and when he trains he easily surpasses himself really, really quickly.
To put into perspective an example of his potential, the time gap between Sonic meeting Hellfire Flame and Gale Wind and fighting Flashy is at the absolute most, a week. And in this week he went from going absolute shit on by Monsterized Gale's speed, to the point that he believed no amount of training could reach this level of speed, even though he has techniques that amp his speed by a lot with Shadow Step Burial, just for him to eventually reach FF's domain in speed after training for a week (max), who insta blitzed a faster GW who believed could take out FF after training for a few days even though he got shit on by FF even when monsterized
Honestly Sonic should get AD due to this

unquantifiable upgrade.
this is invalid.

N O T H I N G implies a huge buff. He has never became tiers stronger in less than 10 character.

people here really trying to get ftl sonic with mhs+ attack speed LOL

he used a killer intention move, THERES NO WAY to believe that it’s below his base speed.

to think that a ftl character would throw a mhs+ projectile to defeat his strongest enemy is an absurd

sonic: ftl, hypersonic when fighting tatsumaki ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️🤫

We know there's a gap. We know Current Sonic can keep up with FF. Burden of proof isn't on me to prove the opposite. Current Sonic has bettet feats than the Sonic 15 chapters befour.

nothing implies that he got that stronger, not without any mention or inscreen training. Your only manking assumptions and headcannon. This cannot debunk my argument. He used exactly the same technique on both Saitama and Flashy.
And no, theres no gap between the actual sonic and the sonic of 15 chapter before. Literally theres NO GAP. NOTHING implies that. Even if he got stronger, it’s just a unquantifiable upgrade and this is not accepted neither considerated on this website, and i refuse to believe that this is the stupid excuse our fandom is gonna use to keep tatsumaki at mhs+.

something implies it every time sonic challenges saitama to a fight again he’s improved its like the entire thing going on with the series you not liking that fact isn’t are problem

A few chapters before, Sonic went after Saitama while he was being dragged by Tatsumaki across the cities, he tried to attack them with a technique that he said that it was be impossible to outrun, and this was meant to defeat Saitama. Implying that the shurikens are at least comparable to Sonic’s base speed (which is being upgraded to ftl). Tatsumaki effortlessly reacted to them right infront her face and redirected them back to Sonic, this will also upgrade her reaction and attack speed to ftl, unless you wanna argue that Sonic is FTL with mhs+ attack speed, something that is blatantly false. Also, her attack speed was fast enough to get Sonic surprised, and this while she was fully focused on Saitama.
We don't know that Sonic was FTL when this scene happened.

unquantifiable upgrade isn’t relevant.
I wont repeat myself 2000 times again, you’re a wall.

I think we should keep the sonic and flashy flash scale for this crt but remove the tatsumaki part until we see more from her

nothing implies a major buff and the fight is quite recent.

we never accept unquantifiable upgrades, we shouldnt do it now.

speculations and headcannon.

he has been training for months and only NOW reached ftl tier? What makes you think that he got especially stronger after encountering Tatsumaki?

Also the guy saying that you cant outrun his Shurikens, and then 15 chapters later he proceeds to do that twice
that means bullshit, just that he can go even faster than his base speed.

a character that blitz or outspeed a ftl character isn’t mftl, it’s just ftl in a higher degree.

man this downplay is so bad, one of the worst arguments i’ve ever seen here.

So what is his base speed then? Isn't him fighting against FF enough to say that's his base speed and the shurikens are ass?

No one said that
man this downplay is so bad, one of the worst arguments i’ve ever seen here.
Downplay when the guy surpasses something that he thought was impossible to outrun when the only thing he ever does throughout the series, is improve and train.

So what is his base speed then?
ftl? he was casually fighting flashy lol

and as i said, theres no LOGIC to believe that he has ftl speed with mhs+ attack speed, this is ridiculous.
Downplay when the guy surpasses something that he thought was impossible to outrun when the only thing he ever does throughout the series, is improve and train.
he thought it was impossible for OTHERS to outrun, he just started to dodge after stating that they are unavoidable.

he thought it was impossible for OTHERS to outrun, he just started to dodge after stating that they are unavoidable.
No. He said it's impossible to "outrun" meaning you can't just run away from them, not that they are unavoidable. It's not the same thing.
You can dodge them, but you can't run from them (likely cause they have a tracking mechanism and home on their targets)

Fair

Only apply the update to Sonic in FF fight for now

Disagree.

Firstly:
Flash has previously been touted as the fastest of the heroes and is clearly much faster than Atomic Samurai, who stood out for his incredible speed among the heroes. Tatsumaki was never presented in the story as one of the fastest heroes, only as one of the most destructive.

Flash has gotten faster since then. Scaling Tatsumaki up to Flash would make her much faster than Samurai, who is clearly faster than her due to the sheer number of claims of incredible speed.

Secondly:

This was what seems like 20 chapters ago, and the reactive evolution of One Punch Man characters has different speeds. Perhaps he was not yet as fast as the Flash.

Thirdly, one of the most important:

It wasn't difficult for Sonic. In fact, on the first page he was sweating because he did not expect such a turn of events that the Surreikens themselves would return. But let's look further. There were four of these shurikens, and each of them attacked him from a completely random side and even from blind spots, completely surrounding him at 360 degrees, but as we see, then Sonic dodges the incredibly difficult positions of the shurikens from absolutely all sides (which already indicates that , that he is much faster than them, despite their number and the complexity of the trajectories and their positions), and what is important, he is completely calm on the scans.
He even calls this attack a "dirty little trick", showing how insignificant an attack it is to him. He was simply surprised at the beginning that there was an esper here. They don’t even draw anime sweat on his face, when the character is having a hard time, he’s not even alarmed, he has a normal calm face. He easily reacts immediately to 4 simultaneous all-round attacks from Tatsumaki capable of flying, and does it playfully.

In the end, she never hit Sonic once; she was helped by the fact that Sonic stepped on you-know-what. He's clearly much faster.
Fourthly, the plot itself does not give us the right to give Tatsumaki superluminal attack speed.

Murata said that only Geryuganshoop is capable of throwing objects at a speed close to light, because it erases the force of friction, but Tatsumaki is not able to do this in the same interview, everything will simply burn out. The surrikens did not burn up in the atmosphere.

We know there's a gap. We know Current Sonic can keep up with FF. Burden of proof isn't on me to prove the opposite. Current Sonic has bettet feats than the Sonic 15 chapters befour
Accelerated Development for Sonic when?

Everyone that disagreed to this are making a bad excuses. It's pretty blatant and clear.

Murata’s statements means bullshit when it’s debunked by the manga. This community….
Everyone that disagreed to this are making a bad excuses. It's pretty blatant and clear.
yeah, there’s scalings with much less evidences here

and this one, which is blatantly clear they are trying to low ball.

Sonic DIDNT get buff from mhs+ to ftl in 15 chapters without any mention.
This is nothing but assumption, this is ridiculous and using this to try to debunk my argument makes absolutely ZERO SENSE since we NEVER accepted headcannon here

a ftl charactet would NEVER be forced to stay still dodging projectiles if he was that faster than them.

he is just faster, but not to a point where he can just blitz them. There was only 4 projectiles, not 100.

Flash has gotten faster since then. Scaling Tatsumaki up to Flash would make her much faster than Samurai, who is clearly faster than her due to the sheer number of claims of incredible speed.
what the ? Tatsumaki was never meant to be slower than atomic samurei neither than anyone on the s class, those arguments are totally biased and non-sense.

funny that this kinda of thing does not show up when they’re trying to upgrade b word without ANY EVIDENCE to OTHERS feats OOF

Tatsumaki shall remain fodder as long as this site has some decense

Agree with Speed-o'-Sound Sonic being Faster Than Light Speed

honestly this is stupid and ridiculous

you guys are ruinning a character like kids just because you dont want her to be that strong??

**** it.

Meh, I agree with Sonic scaling to Flash, I disagree with the Sonic and Tatsumaki scaling part

This looks a lot like a standard Boros upgrade CTR, only with less supporters making noise, since you know... Boros have more supporters on the site... Anyway, If you want to cast Tatsumaki as Sonic you will need more arguments, with what you have now it will be difficult to pass... You can also bribe a team member

I agree with Kin201, Sonic trains constantly, so in his appearances he is always > his last appearance. So it doesn't make sense to scale your current self to your previous one.

Furthermore, it is never necessary to do something like "imply a big buff", we have dozens of characters on the wiki who do normal training or do nothing and in their next appearances they for some reason manage to fight with beings that should be much more powerful than them. . And what do we do? We only make the key for this new version after this training or timeskip. We did not scale this current version to the previous one because the training was not highlighted.

There’s NOTHING that implies that he became ftl in the last chapter.

The most acceptable ideia is that he already was at his last appearence. There’s no visible buff, no statement…
He even used the SAME moves.
